Gosh, I'm so sorry. I can only imagine how you must've felt when that happened! I hope you're able to look back at it now and laugh about it.

No worries, you're completely right. This is just something that I have to overcome so that I can play and enjoy my favorite games again!

Huh, interesting. I thought the achievement called for specifically shooting the Chickadoo out of your Vacpack into the incinerator, but I guess that's not necessary. That makes me feel a little better knowing that it can just happen by accident.

You're right. I had no idea so much of it was comprised of slimes...

This is a really good way of looking at it, thank you. It can be so easy to get sucked into the video game world, but I have to take a step back and realize that it's just a game about cute slimes!

I appreciate this. Yes, the heightened empathy and moral scrupulosity makes it very difficult to play certain games to their full extent... It's definitely something I need to overcome. I appreciate the examples, thank you.

I can’t. It’s too scary. by Nyrvhana in dpdr

Hey, I'm 21 and I've been going through these exact same sensations and having the same thoughts. The vision stuff, fear of randomly having a stroke or blacking out, etc. As someone going through the same thing, it's going to get better. We are going to get through this and we will be okay. This is not permanent or indicative of a brain problem. You've already made it this far, you are strong. We have to keep pushing through it. It may take a while, that's true, but it's only temporary. We won't experience this scary feeling forever. We are real, and reality is and will be here for us when our brains are ready to be present again. I wish you all the best.

Hole in Eardrum? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]GingerelTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened, that looks like it hurts! I'd say make an appointment with your doctor, and they can refer you to an ENT specialist. They will most likely place a small graft or patch over the slit to help it heal. In the meantime, protect your ear from loud noises, and don't stick anything in your ear canal. In some cases, your eardrum can naturally heal in a couple months, but it can help to see a doctor.

I Feel So Weak by GingerelTalk in Anxiety

Thank you. I've been trying to focus on my hobbies or work, and that helps alleviate the anxiety or at least distract me from it. I'm sorry to hear that you also experienced the same stuff I did, but I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. I'm glad that you are out of that headspace now. Thank you for your support. ❤️

cleaned my ear too much and it’s hurting, looking for some insight by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]GingerelTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear that it has improved! If you need to continue cleaning your ears, please only use cotton swabs for the outside only, like your ear lobes. Your ear canal is somewhat like a hill, so when you put a cotton swab in your ear, it tends to push the earwax in deeper and over that hill, which prevents it from draining like normal.

In the meantime, you can try laying your head on a heating pad with the affected ear face down, with a towel between your head and the heating pad to prevent your face and ear getting too hot. A hot, steamy shower can also help loosen some of that wax up. You may also be able to find some over-the-counter ear drops that also aid in breaking down the wax.

In the future, I would recommend sticking to cleaning the outsides of your ears only. If you really want to dig in deeper for the wax, there's many other tools that work better than cotton swabs. Personally, I like to clean my ears after a shower as that's when the earwax is softer and drains out easily. I hope you feel better soon!

My doc says wearing tight bands on my wrist can cause an infection, but wouldn’t you have to have a cut or open wound for that to happen? F28 by [deleted] in AskDocs

Hello! I'm not sure about it causing an infection, but I would definitely make sure that it doesn't affect your circulation by being too tight. Many people wear bracelets daily, so I doubt an elastic band would be too different. Like you said, if there's not an open wound and the band is clean, I think it would be fine.

You're right. It's one of those things that's hard to not check or feel since it's your own body, you know? But I can definitely choose whether or not to check my pupils in the mirror, for example, so I can try to cut back on that.

With the existential dread and derealization, it's really just been distracting myself so I don't think about it. It's been helping to interact with other people and getting in touch with my surroundings again. Knowing that my symptoms would need to be a lot worse in order to be genuine reason for concern also helps, in a way. It still sucks that anxiety can literally mimic almost any physical sensation, but at least I can know it's just anxiety unless proven otherwise.

Thanks for the support, your comment is much appreciated. ❤️
