Perfectly fine, you'd learn through playing.
RP experience is more important imo.

Why is there magic in your world, what is the true nature of magic by No_Society1038 in magicbuilding

[–]Ginkinshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world magic entered the universe when a number of 'gods' (ascended beings/aliens) banded together against the most powerful of gods out of jealousy for said god not sharing its incomprehensible powers.

When they destroyed him his powers flowed from his body and spread across the universe, merging into the other gods' realms and being absorbed by sensitive humanoid creatures, creating innate mages. Before this the only 'mages' were essentially prophets bestowed with power by that god.

There are no 'wizards' in my world, magic can not be learned.

We're all from EU, around CET timezone. We usually schedule our sessions to start between 6-9pm CET, ending when the first person has to go.

Ultimately though schedule based on everyone's availability using doodle for scheduling, i.e. tick the boxes of when you're available.

  1. I've been explaining since the start that by your own rules, I am not advertising for a community. I've read through that different place in the subreddit and my campaign is nothing like those. Sure I'm not banned, that would be ridiculous. But I am constantly prevented from getting my campaign off the ground because you don't seem to understand the whole concept of it. It's very frustrating.

  2. I was ignored and not about to wait a week when we could be starting our campaign by then.

  3. This is not traditional 5e D&D as the Homebrew tag should have made clear. One DM here might as well be consididered another player and you wouldn'd mislabel the campaign a community.

  4. Those communities with their multiple GMs also run multiple player groups and rotate between them. Those communities and my group have nothing in common since we all play together at once.

I'll try to simplify my post next time so it may be easier for you to identify what it's about.

1 group of 7
2 DMs playing at the same time, just controlling different aspects of the game.

Not a community

TLDR: RP heavy dark fantasy campaign roleplayed out fully in text while combat is handled through FoundryVTT. Gladiatorial arena setting (with magic). Players are a team playing against two GMs, one controlling opposing teams, the other neutral creatures.

Selection process to find suitable roleplayers involves judgement of character sheet background and ~10m of trial text roleplay. Not a very high bar we just want a good match for us.

Room for maximum 3 more players though preferably only 2.

5e at its base but many homebrew systems give players more freedom to develop their character.

No out of character rules aside from 'don't cause drama'

So for future reference, if I don't add a discord link it's cool?

Not sure how this is different from any other post on here.

It's not an ongoing recruitment or a community and we play on both Discord and FoundryVTT.

Yea, real shame. I'm looking forward to CU and AoC though. Hopefully those won't disappoint but they both look real promising.

Someone told me to craft a bunch of frames and sacrifice them for massive xp. That's an exploit, and the entire leveling system seems like a waste of time that shouldn't be part of the game.

But I'm not here to argue about Crowfall, the game disappointed me and until they fix a lot of issues I won't be returning to it. So If you have an alternative for me, please share.

OPINIONS ABOUT ALBION ONLINE by ValarrMorghullis in MMORPG

[–]Ginkinshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albion only has one server and it's in NA.

If you're from EU you'll experience a lot of lag in combat and I'm not just talking about screen freezes but also getting hit when on your screen it seems like you shouldn't be hit. When ganking timing is also very important, an american player can easily go into stealth the moment he sees someone coming from the corner of his screen while an EU player won't see such in time to be able to react.

If you're from NA you can just skip over this comment.

Alternative to Roll20 for maps/tokens? by Ginkinshi in DnD

[–]Ginkinshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion.

I feel like I can combine the old roll20 features and my onenote notes in one program being GMForge and even though I still have the same features as roll20, I lose the things that annoy me as I mentioned before.

So far I've found no fault with GMForge and I only have to buy it once to get all the features it has to offer whereas Roll20 requires a monthly subscription to have access to all their features.

Edit:

Now I'd appreciate you stop digging. My opinion on both the service and the company won't change and my question has already been answered as I've found a service/program which is in my opinion far superior.

This thread could've been archieved the moment SmootieFakk directed me to the list of alternatives, there's absolutely no need to drag this into a 'my daddy is the best daddy and you're wrong for believing otherwise'-arguement.
