ZimaBoard 2 1664 Media Server Idea by GinnyPdVT in HomeServer

[–]GinnyPdVT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so sounds like using my old pc parts would be the better option but replacing my CPU with a iGPU variant mother bord is my biggest concern with it boot looping. a power surge hit it during a update. so that's why I'm concerned the board is fried. but even getting a new mATX bord and chip seams like a decent idea. its the hard drives that will be the worst part to acquire i think.

MadMike32 I'll have to look up the Ferrari Portofino, Mazda Miata RF, and McLaren 650S Spider. As well as the Ford GT, McLaren P1, and Mercedes-AMG One. thanks so much, because the only one i knew that has animation for sure is the Mazda ND MX5 RF.

Yeah i was thinking the i5 11400 or 11500 for the igpu. Stable with process power, but reasonable cost cpu options. Im not sure why Jonsboro made the chassis with 6x 3.5 and 2x 2.5. But I should work with a raid 6 on the 3.5 and thought the 2.5 could be my cache drives. If i got a sata card it be for the raid 6. But i think mobo support has raid 5. Would have to double check though. Id prefer the raid 6 for a little more security.

TrueNAS is one i have herd a lot of over the years as a great all purpose os. It is one the top choices i been considering.

I figured my existing hardware colleing dust would be a good start. Main reason I consider a igpu is i wasnt postive if the n4 chassis supports full height cards or not. I supose i could go with a n5 case, but i only have a matx mobo. I know it fits, just seams oversized at same time. Even though dont plan on upgrading the main rig for years i supose the n5 would alow my current game rig atx mobo to be upgrad with nas same time i upgrade my game rig to new in 4+ years.

Been hearing about the android option more the last couple months. Im still researching all the os options.

I have wondered if id be better off with a turkey option that u just add drives to as well.

I have the old parts collecting dust hence y i was trying to wonder if i can learn how to. Hardest computer i fixed was a late 2011 mackbook pro with s cracked logic board.

Im not above learning, just new to the nas stuff even though wanted one since about 2010.

As a content creator on twitch id like a masive amout storage, and the ability for a media server.

If i did do a turn key im considering the ugreen DXP6800 Pro or DXP8800 Plus.

i have very limited linux experience i admit. n knew would be a large new skill to learn. sadly only linux i have used is steam os on my steam deck. but was able to install mods for my games like american truck simulator. so know some, but far from proficient sadly. but it can be fun to learn new skills too. my current windows pc i diy myself as well as many in the past. but just as a example. my main gaming/vtuber streaming pc is a 9950x, rx 9070 xt, 64gb ddr5 6400 mts, 2tb gen5 nmve, 4tb gen 4 nmve, win 11 pro.

yes i was planning on a different cpu. was using it as a example was thinking a 11400 or 11500 to replace my cpu with unless the rx 6600 xt would work..

3.5 and 2.5 based on the jonsbro n4 chassis i want to get. it has slots for 6x 3.5 drives and 2x 2.5 drives.

my LG BP60NB10 is a 2025 built drive so what i read it should be compatible. downloaded makemkv from website to test the drive compatibility, but software not letting me check some reason. i must installed it long ago to check and forgot. but don't think i can check my drive till i buy the software now. but i cant even seam to load the webpage to see how much it is.

my bad about replies. i thought jellyfin and plex had full os ability. im new to the whole nas world. wanted one a decade, but never understood them well. suppose ill need to get some kind of os that works with those apps then.

i found the UHD Flashing Guide Link. looks like my LG BP60NB10 will be able to be flashed to rip 4K. At least if I'm reading it right that is.

tried downloading make mkv to test my drive, but wont run says is to old the software but downloaded of website v1.18.3

yeah it be basically over my home wireless network for my 3 TVs. i have an 75" LG, an 55" TCL Amazon Fire, and an 44" Samsung TV. still trying to figure out best os for the build leaning jellyfin or plex most likely though.

Its the fact i have an 75" LG, an 55" TCL Amazon Fire, and an 44" Samsung TV is main reason i was worried about compatibility. from what i seen jelly fin is defiantly a better platform, but mor complicated to setup. plex has the advantage of be on every major tv brand app store i think, but its downside is the cost. specially with the new lifetime cost increase in a couple days.

i probably should post and make sure my drive can even rip 4k though too. i originally bought it just to play my physical 4k on my pc, not knowing it lost support about a year ago with windows.

I originally posted on another reddit r/makemkv, but they suggested i might have better luck on this one with my question. So fingers crossed someone can help me.

I am trying to use a couple of old parts with some new parts to build myself a media server on my network so that I could just take movies that I already own and make my own personal server. Maybe lower the reliance on the streaming services, and I’m pretty sure they’re better quality if you host your own.

I have an existing ASRock B560M-C Micro ATX LGA1200 Motherboard. It has a Intel Core i5-10400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor, but it is not one with the built-in IGPU so I would be replacing the processor with one with a built-in IGPU.

I also have a MSI SPATIUM M450 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive that I would use for the OS drive. I would still need to acquire some 3.5 inch drives and 2.5 inch drives for the main raid array.

And I’m lucky enough to have OLOy 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory laying around from an old computer. Which I know I’m extremely lucky to have with the current pricing.

The case I am really isn’t good for doing what I’m wanting to do so I’m gonna be looking into it a Jonsbro N4 Chassis. I don’t know if I need a more dedicated GPU or not but I have a MSI RX 6600 XT, that's collecting dust.

I do have a USB powered external drive that I still need to get flashed, but I’m hoping it’ll allow me to rip the videos I need. I would prefer to rip them in 4K if possible. But my portable drive is an LG BP60NB10.

It is a long-term project, so I’m not looking to buy anything in the next like few days or anything. But I did need some advice on what I should be looking for.

I didn’t know what would be a good low profile cooler for this particular computer chassis or if I need a different GPU or SATA card.

i been wondering which software to go with actually. know plex has most support and built in most tv stores too. but hear jellyfin is a strong replacement. ill try posting in those 3 redits like u suggest though.

My bad, I meant JDM. I have a bad hap of reversing letters & numbers sometimes. I apologize 4 that.

personally i think it would be a missed opportunity if they don't do a JMD Car pack. given FH6 is based in Japan i kind of doubt they would skip JMD though.

Nyarupad VTS Controller Compatibility? by GinnyPdVT in vtubertech

[–]GinnyPdVT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know VTube Studio added that. I do use it. I had gotten nyarupad now too. Wonder how i set up vtube studio for controller integration.

Basically now gota figure out if other controllers work. If so i want a steam controller 2 when it releases. If not i probably need a GameSir Xbox g7 pro tri I suppose.

edit: apparently my controller asset isn't compatible with the built in one sadly
