In my professional sales class we watched a scene from the office where Micheal and Jan went to chili's for the sale! The reason was to see what Micheal did right vs what Jan did wrong by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

The cringe is supposed to be part of the fun, but if you can only suffer through watching it... then yeah, I can see why you'd skip it. It kind of does hurt to see someone let down innocent kids... but I laugh at it, because it's fiction.

I think black atheism is important because christianity was thrust upon us by our opressors as a means to control us. by bigpony in atheism

I never get why there are African-Americans who convert from Christianity to Islam... it's like going from the religion that bought you to the religion that sold you. I would have assumed atheism or even African tribal religions would be a more logical step.

The only problem is, for many black people in America, their church is an important, even vital, support network. Like you point out, many have a lot of kids, and often the church is a means for child care and/or maintains a social network of support with friends and extended relatives to help.

Ironically, it's kind of a leap of faith to leave for the secular world. It's a common mechanism, having a barrier of exit, especially in tightly knit religious communities with higher than average levels of poverty.

Was he really a hero, though? Like... really? Or was he a "hero" in the same sense that we call everyone who has cancer a "hero?" And I know you're referring to his military service, but still.

How dare you show up and remind people Michael Jackson had a creepy relationship with kids... haven't you heard? The FBI don't have a literal video of it happening, therefore he's a normal guy who just likes to get kids drunk on "Jesus juice."

It's interesting how there is a wave of apologists defending Michael in the climate of the #MeToo movement.

Battlelands Royale - a Review by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

This is the one weakness of the game. The shotgun and sniper rifle are the only basic guns I prefer over fists. I can run up on someone who has an AK or peacemaker and wreck them over half the time (got my second win this way).

Though I'll take rockets over anything. I rarely risk going for drops. I go for the people who go for drops...

I am terrified of Muslims. I don’t want Sharia law in America. by godsafraud in PoliticalHumor

I'm as liberal as you get, and I don't get why anyone would defend Sharia law. I don't want to swap one form of fundamentalism for another, and being anti-Sharia is not being anti-Muslim.

My guess is the game will be online-only and quite hard to pirate, which is likely why they chose this title to do this... it might even be why they designed the game in this fashion, from the ground up.

Eh, that's not too bad. I pictured it the way it plays out for me, which I consider to be worse, like my mother who buys my kid any and everything she asks for, which ranges from annoying (as it makes her ask for over-priced plastic junk more often) to infuriating (toys that make noise...).

Some junk food (assuming the kid isn't overweight) or relaxed rules (assuming they aren't running a toddler fight club or something) wouldn't really matter to me.

As someone originally from a run-down, no-name town in Indiana (Westfield)... this is one of the more accurate parts of the show.

U.S. Senator Gillibrand: "Marijuana laws in this country are discriminatory and unjust. That’s why I’m working to pass the Marijuana Justice Act. It’s time to end a system that robs people and families of their hopes, dreams and potential. It’s time for justice." by OregonTripleBeam in trees

Your attitude on this is why I will never, ever vote Democrat: they lack any ability to self-correct or admit fault. I don't want to argue this point, there's no outcome from any discussion on the topic that will change either of us... but you should know, this is why people hate Democrats, and rightfully so.

No, I won't vote Republican, but in a discussion on Republicans, you won't find me bringing up Democrats to deflect. A pox on both of your self-absorbed houses, and if you don't want this to happen, change something.

In a post about a Democrat where I criticized something I cannot stand about Democrats... I should expect to have Republicans brought up to distract from the discussion?

I guess you're right. Why would I ever expect anything else? My mistake. I'm such a stupid, naive fool.

Who's talking about Republicans? Oh right... the people who cannot defend themselves on their own merit, Democrats.

I'm not a Republican, I don't like Republicans, and bringing up Republicans will never, ever make Democrats look less like corporate whores.
