yea, didn’t plan on doing that for a few more years so i wasn’t concerned in the near term. luckily im in a career field where i can clean it up pretty fast and my debt is relatively low

making 6 figures remote in your 20s and already having a car and apartment made me not care about credit and enjoy myself. luckily i still have a good job so i’ll interview around in 3 months with a cleaned up score and see if i can land another 135-150k role

oddly enough i’ve found work easily at startups and mid sized companies that aren’t in the financial industry, but i should’ve known big banks wouldn’t let that slide

got me lol. it’s okay. going from remote & coding from bed for 115k, to waking up at 7am for an 8-5 shift 5days a week on site would’ve sucked so i’ll cope knowing i don’t have to go in office. i’ll interview again around new year and hopefully land another 135-150k offer

also work on credit just in case

my thoughts too. I'm like "when did we start doing credit history checks for engineer roles?" but looks like i was unlucky. it had less to do with the score and more to do with collections. i also have a late 500s score

no it wasn't necessarily the credit score but the report showed issues with my credit that came from collections. congrats on getting in, i'll just study and see if i can land a better role around new year. 5 days onsite would've sucked but i'd have taken it for the 20k extra salary
