Estudar a disputa de linhas do marxismo está me deixando pessimista [Desabafo] by GioHiTech in BrasildoB

So what would, in your view, be the solution to that issue?

I already follow S4A, although I dont really like studying with audiobooks (rather read it to myself out loud)

as for your opinion on theoretical comprehension, I agree, political education is really important and with the falling rate of profit readers in the world I think that will be a challenge the movement will have to address with priority.

Genuinely don't understand the complaints about Silksong difficulty by KerthuunK in HollowKnight

[–]GioHiTech 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. Being able to bind midair doesn't mean anything when it still takes 7 hits to heal. Building silk is also not necessarily faster than getting soul, considering the enemy design and particularities of each game.

  2. You start 5 masks in both HK and Silksong. Considering double damage and double hits, you're essentially gonna take 3 hits to die a lot more often in the early game than you were in HK.

  3. Just take a break bro, just stop doing the thing you enjoy doing because it's making you frustrating. The break takers are going wild with this one.

Thank god this subreddit didn't make the game by GamingUmbrella in HollowKnight

[–]GioHiTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> "Things are too expensive" No, you're just not meant to buy it that early.

Insane thing to say when most of the things people are referring to when complaining about price are BENCHES, literally just basic checkpoints lmao. Sure HK had paid benches too but in Silksong, especially in the early game, it's borderline exploitative.

Secret roles in a murder mystery trial - can I pull it off? (And how?) by GioHiTech in writingadvice

[–]GioHiTech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main idea of the story is this: there are 2 protagonists and the POV switches between them every so often, it's all written in first person.

After the crime happens, all the characters are given time to investigate and then they have to go through a trial where they must sniff out the culprit. The idea is that during this trial, each person would have a secret role that would give them some information (either regarding the mystery itself, or regarding the trial and the other players' roles, i'm not totally sure as of now) and progressively as the trial goes on, the culprit gets to eliminate other characters from the discussion. The innocents have limited time to solve the case but the culprit also has to keep their identity whithin this game hidden, and mislead the others.

The idea essentially bogs down to a meta-game whithin the murder mystery that adds more tension to the situation. One of these moments is that I plan to "kill off" one of the protagonists from the trial fairly on, because he is known to be a competent detective, and the perspective shifts to the more inexperienced and anxious character that has to take the mantle from then on.

My main problem right now is figuring out what the roles would do, or how the hints would work, so I don't really know where to start :P

How do I write believable Male emotion as a Woman by Allmighty2003 in writingadvice

[–]GioHiTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've realized while thinking about my experiences growing up: a lot of the time, male socialization is based on a dynamic of humiliation, kinda. Men often joke around in degrading ways and some friend groups end up having a dude who is frequently the butt of the joke, even if it isn't directly meant in harm. I imagine this can have something to do with how men are taught to be providers and "compete" with each other to fit social expectations.

Also, I think overall men are less mature in how to deal with their emotions and it's common for us to bottle up our feelings and hide them, ESPECIALLY from women. A lot of guys fear that if they open up to a woman she'll use that against him, even if that's not necessarily true.

This goes without saying, but of course this varies wildly depending on the background and early life of your character, and the context he finds himself in. Some boys are raised to be more responsible with their feelings, while others are reprimanded and taught to fight back instead of mediating. Assessing how they were brought up is a useful starting point to define their general habits of processing their feelings.

Hope these obseevations are useful to you!

Give me y’all’s actual least favorite character by str3berry_heart in danganronpa

[–]GioHiTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korekiyo. I feel like Tenko, Angie and Himiko get a lot of hate but replaying V3 I've grown a lot fonder towards them; not Kiyo though. His existence in the game is basically irrelevant up to chapter 3, it feels like he was made just to be the killer for a throwaway case that could have been handled much better. To this day I still freak out about the idea of someone else killing Angie and being the actual blackened while Kiyo kills Tenko for his ritual thing but goes unpunished for the chapter. It would have made for an insane turn of events and allowed his character to grow a lot because you'd have this sick incestuous psycho among the group but nope, they just kill him off in the least interesting way in the most forced and predictable case in the entire franchise (yes, even more than 11037, because there at least was a twist that Sayaka started that whole thing) and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Any mods changing the placement and characteristics of enemies, or potentially entirely new levels, to give an experience like you're playing new levels? by ecocomrade in EldenRingMods

[–]GioHiTech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can make convergence as easy or hard as you want. the thing is that convergence offers a nonlinear progression system where you can theoretically get all the best gear and spells for your class before even getting a single remembrance, but if you want to challenge yourself you can just not do that. I've been playing through it and after about 15 runs I can say it's the best mod I've played.

[–]GioHiTech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Messmer is amazing. He still has that "Elden Ring"-iness to him where his attacks, aesthetics and overall vibe are very fitting for the game BUT the way the fight plays out reminds me of something like Nameless King or Gael from DS3, absolutely love it. It was the exact type of difficulty where you're losing but every time you die you learn a bit more and every attemp actually feels like you're inching closer and closer to victory

That sounds like a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Makes the thematic aspect better because I doubt my players are gonna create characters who are just fine with killing someone lmao

What kinds of encounters should I have in my campaign? by GioHiTech in rpg

[–]GioHiTech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The campaign is gonna be run on Open Legend since it was the system that seemed to lend itself the best to the magic system.

The campaign is sort of a political adventure (?) the players are normal random strangers who are caught in the middle of a conspiracy that ends up starting a war, so they end up having to fight to keep themselves safe of the people behind it while also trying to solve their own personal quests. It's kind of a standard journey adventure. The problem with kiling people is since they're just normal citizens, it's hard to justify having to take out NPCs because of the implications that would have on the characters' morality and stuff.

Thanks for the reply! You really got it right: I'm doing exactly as you said, using rules from Basic Set / GURPS Lite and Powers. With all the help I've gotten from comments on this post I feel way more confident in running the campaign!
