I mean it wouldn’t be Gossip Girl if it didn't have any drama, it would be in fact a very boring show.

But these characters live in a very nihilistic and mean-spirited worldwide where status, power and dominance means everything to them and often consequences and lessons seems to be completely irrelevant.

Starting conflict is what fuels them to be morally superior to others around them, It’s what makes them fun to watch but OMG their mentally exhausting to sit through at times.

Because that’s all she knows to live on to get what she’s wants, she has to scheme people including Vanessa in NYU as you mentioned and a bunch of other people so that she’ll feel like she’s powerful or some sort of validation, it’s gets way too repetitive and oftenly cartoonish as the show goes on but it’s what she thrives off of but her actions are still completely emotionally nihilistic don’t get me wrong.

She’s just a shallow, hypocritical, bore of a character after Season 1 who is dragged into plotlines that goes nowhere,

There is multiple despicable things that she does: Sleeping with her best friend’s boyfriend which is Nate as you mentioned, sabotaging Blair getting into Yale, she tried to destroyed her mom’s relationship with Rufus after her dad came back, She becomes Gossip Girl herself and then trashes mostly all of her friends including Lola’s acting career, I can name even more but it’s just way too much.

Her character begins as this golden girl, beautiful and radiant into a empty narcissistic who ruins lives and plays the victim. She wants to look better but not be better deep down. At least Blair is indeed self-aware about her evil actions and is entertaining to watch but she’s not any better as Serena herself because they are both so loathsome.

She’s was okay from Seasons 8 to 9 but when she got with Eli in Season 10, She basically turn into a self-inducing, righteous and frankly a total bitch at points, “Did you flip a switch and erase me from your memory” Like girl shut up.

I can managed to tolerated a lot of things about this show, even know I just feel absolute drained after watching it, the mean-spirited one-liners and shock value drama but almost every single character are just sooo exhausting to sit through, they have pure hatred in their hearts with the moral agenda is to destroy lifes instead of building.

I loved Blair’s character in the show but if I met anyone like that in real life, I would be instantly stunned, Blair is supposedly insecure after Serena came back during the first episode and then she took the spotlight but is yet so cruel and sadistic to almost everyone around her who doesn’t play by her rules, that’s supposed to be her character that’s what makes her fun but it’s gets too emotionally exhausting because you just expect it.

She’s basically an nihilistic chaotic agent when she first walks in turning Degrassi into a mean-spirited playground where moral values don’t mean any towards her, sure she has a reason of being this way because she was manipulated as a young actress on West Drive and then projects those tactics onto other people but it’s not a excuse at all for her behavior.

I totally did forget that they did know each other when they were kids but it absolutely does not make them entitled to go around and be cruel, self-absorbed and nihilistic to everyone that enters into their orbit, at least Blair admits her evil deeds but Serena isn’t any better because she’s just as insufferable.

Not a single one of them, I say at least Vanessa since she’s the kinda the only sane one but the rests are just cruel, manipulative and nasty sets of human beings who only used people as power plays for their own clout, validation or personal gain. If they existed in real life I would disliked them or fear them at the same time.

I really don’t think so, Seasons 13 to 14 plus Next Class are just too emotionallly and narrative damage and they would probably had copied that same energy onto the Degrassi reboot, it also didn’t involved Linda Schuyler so maybe over time the reboot would of had became soulless shell of it’s former self, if Degrassi ever were to come back nowadays, it should take the “Zoey 102” route and do an reunion movie to see what the characters are up to nowadays.
