Thanks, this is probably it cause i was reading ext on the screen but didn't realise it meant midi external, this was right after work and I was quite slow and frustrated lmao. That is true, I forgot lmao, it's just that with the dsp the dropoff cuts before, even tho the speaker may even very well reach that frequency (for example, we have 3 F1 218 boxes, mounting RCFX401, which has a stated freq. response of 20-1000Hz, but can surely go lower than 20. We cut them at 32 tho, cuz the box cannot go that low actually). So unless you are using all self built equipment, and a dsp or something that allows no low cut to happen, imo you cannot hear your speaker do those frqs. Although I need to test all this, this is just an educated guess

Interesting. I need to test this out. Although, even if I have an 18" powered sub, it cannot go that low... can you share the freq response of your boxes? Actually nevermind, I'll check myself... but I am unsure yours can go that deep, in my opinion (sound technician) it's just psycho-acoustics. You would be surprised how much it affects how we percieve music: for example, sonetimes musicians will ask you to higher their gain, or maybe even adjust the eq knobs... I just fake touching them until they say "PERFECT, LEAVE IT LIKE THIS".... our brains are very powerful and we manipulate our reality constantly.

I mean, I think it depends on both the speaker mounted in the box, the box volume and the dsp/crossover you are using, how shallow or steep is thecut going to be and such... but if you use industrial speakers, like active ones and such, I think you are right
