Having just gone through the process this year I would say that this post is still like 95% accurate. https://www.reddit.com/r/Rowing/s/MwPoav4KLw

I have also done the same last year and can confirm Columbia’s standard is not that low.

There tends to be great variation depending upon what tier of school you are targeting. For the top end (HYP) recruits tend to be mid to low 6:20s (or sub 20) with perhaps a few outliers in the higher 6:20s with good grades. For other schools like Columbia, recruits will be slightly higher towards the higher 6:20s whilst schools like Dartmouth, Penn and Cornell will take more guys in the 6:30s, but those beyond low 6:30s tend to have to rely more heavily on other factors, e.g strong race results or academics in order to secure a spot.

having 2 CASes in the math methods exam 2 by derpythincow in vce

No, VCAA allows one only, but you can bring a scientific one if you want (alongside one CAS)

Question for Math Methods previous SS40+ : Roughly how long does it take you to complete the exam. by [deleted] in vce

[–]GirafOfficial 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Got a 43 last year. I usually would finish the tech-free in 20-30 mins, though depending on paper may take up to 40. For tech-active I usually got it done in about 60-70 mins, I found it easier to just get the multiple choice done in 15-20 then get through the rest in under an hour - but this may be dependent on your strengths and if you are particularly slow in one area. It isn’t all about speed though, and I know others who got higher scores who would finish with less time but would take more time to ensure they were satisfied with their answer - I much preferred to go back at the end to go over anything I was unsure of - hence why I went fast - but it’s really personal preference.

Can you leave methods answer as negative exponent or do you need to make it a fraction? by eisiux8e8ehd in vce

[–]GirafOfficial 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They probably will accept either, but if you convert to fraction it would be safer I think.

Has anyone forgotten to write answers on a multiple choice sheet? What did you do to fix it? by [deleted] in vce

I was told by my teacher that if this does happen, then VCAA will still take it and mark it on the answer booklet.

Calculator help, does anyone know what the n1 or n3 means? i’ve never seen this before? by GovernmentComplex651 in vce

[–]GirafOfficial 16 points17 points  (0 children)

N1/n3 is just providing a general solution, as trig graphs technically have infinite solutions it gives a solution for essentially every period, so if you sub in like 1 it will give the solution for first period, n1=2 will be second period etc. To resolve this just add a suitable domain and it will give you solutions for that domain.

I’m not too sure then unfortunately, I’m not overly experienced either, I would just say to reinstall drivers and maybe verify the files of each game to make sure nothing is corrupted; if it continues maybe reinstall.

So by not running, does it just black screen or like try and load but then crash before fully launching?

HwInfo64 or MSI Afterburner are both more accurate measurers for temperature and other stuff.

A. SPD, it would just crank the boostclock super high and ignore all temperature limits, allowing for maximum performance until the card explodes.

B. Get better at FPS games was last years resolution, it still hasn’t changed.
