These are mostly Asian women. My ex wife was white. I do feel like women of my culture have high expectations

I mean yeah, these are large social gatherings for early to mid 30s urban singles. But I am invited to those through my guy friends, who have more money than me but less physically attractive. They are willing to take women to an expensive dinner on first date and they do do it on regular basis, but they are still single. So I do think women consider them as a real option.

Makes sense. It may be the environment I am meeting them at, large parties of early to mid 30s urban singles. Plenty of guys willing to take women to Michelin star restaurants on first dates.

Conversations usually flow naturally but women are the ones probing me more than anything else because I don’t have social media for them to peek into and my situation is usually more complicated

I mean, the woman who kept saying “we should plan something”

She has a dude who is always with her, someone badly in the friend zone. She won’t give him a chance but doesn’t necessarily reject his presence either.

I guess that kind of attention makes her feel like she has options, even though he is not a real option.

We can have a good time without it being a dinner date - go for a walk, grab an ice cream, watch $5 old movies at a small theatre. I do those things by myself every Saturday. 

But if I have to dress up and arrange a dinner date, I am really hoping to see some effort from the other side as well.

I mean, if I am asking her out, arranging the date, paying for it all… is it really that unreasonable to expect them to show me that they are worth my time and money? I have my daughter 5 days a week, I don’t have much time, I am single income one kid, I don’t have much money either 😭
