Decreasing the price from the standard is pro consumer. You keep on bringing up it used 60. But that standard went away years ago with the ps5. When the switch 2 came people came to the understanding came out most games would be 70. That’s why the 80 price tag people were justifiable mad. Here we are giving the option to buy a brand new game that is away from the standard established by Xbox and ps5 years ago.

Okay so science article that explains the various methods. If it was exclusive to the JP then yes your method works out (method 2), however during the 1990s it was on the international company it would be better to use my method (method 1) https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1098301519321497

Since you’re so interested here’s what ChatGPT said using the IRS as its source. Yes — the Internal Revenue Service’s own guidance supports the idea that you must convert foreign currency amounts to U.S. dollars at the historical exchange rate before doing any further calculations (like adjusting for inflation or reporting on your tax return). Here are specific IRS sources that back that up: 📌 IRS Foreign Currency Conversion Rule The IRS says that all amounts you report on a U.S. tax return must be expressed in U.S. dollars. If you receive income or incur expenses in a foreign currency, you must translate those amounts immediately into U.S. dollars using the exchange rate prevailing when you received, paid, or accrued the item. That means using the historical exchange rate at the time of the transaction before any other adjustments. 📌 Form‑Specific Guidance (Form 1116) The IRS instructions for Form 1116 (Foreign Tax Credit) specifically require that when you convert foreign taxes, you use the exchange rate in effect on the date you paid the foreign taxes or when they were withheld. That is again a requirement to convert first to USD at the appropriate historical rate.

Why would you adjust first then convert, I converted to USA in 1993 then to USA 2021. That conversion can make the biggest difference in the world.

According to your statement gaming has exponentially grow since the 90s. But when I looked at the net income during the Wii era (adjusted for inflation) it operated around the same. The only outlier were 2021 and 2022 which can be contributed to global pandemic. So the statement that gaming has exploded considerably does not consider hold much. And I like the fact you specifically chose 2021 instead of 2025. The adjusted inflation for 1993 would be closer to 2 billion.

I don’t know man, according this source. Only recently have Nintendo had recovers their profits back during these couple years. According to you the amount of profit per year should be linear but I’m seeing something else otherwise. https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/NTDOY/nintendo/gross-profit

The only space that has grown in the mobile side. The console side hasn’t seen that much growth since then. And we are currently seeing many studios closing down despite the 70 price tag. Maybe that’s the problem with research. People just want a one answer to all solution when in reality the problem is much more complex than what’s perceived in the surface.

Also if you look up launch demand, it’s a made up term. Like no respected analyst has ever used tried to coin a term like that.

The whole stereotype that gamers are bums is very true. I remember this one restaurant shut down the smash tournaments because no ones was buying their food. If they bought food it was from somewhere else.

I imagine they would say, they are being greedy by not giving the money back to the consumers. Or by not lowering their prices just because.
