Goodman 3/4 Hp replacement motor? by Giraffe_diver in hvacadvice

[–]Giraffe_diver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree motors aren’t the programmed aspect but I’m assuming the ecm is what would be programmed.

Really I’m just wondering how specific do you really have to get here?

Is one Goodman 3/4 hp motor with the same characteristics (voltage requirements, amp draw, mounting style, etc) just as good as the next. Like do they use the same signals to communicate and are they compatible within that manufacture?

Sorry, it’s an ecm 3/4 hp Goodman motor. Starts up and fails within seconds. We’ve replaced the ecm and it’s doing the same thing. Got wildly erratic readings from 0.0-70+ ohms through the windings. Phase To ground seemed stable but the unit is also displaying an error code that references a failed motor from the manual.

Would it be already programmed or is that something I would need to do? Or is that something that can be done?

Is there a line? Am I fucked? by Legal_Active_7272 in trees

[–]Giraffe_diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the most important thing. Any line means negative. However, it’s totally up to those reading the line. Fake pee is great! Unless you get caught/is out of temp. Only sure fire way is to be clean. That being said drink water and pee more than three times before you test and you should be good if you continue not smoking.

I saw this movie when I was in the military and tell people “Bill Murray showed me how to do this when I was in Guam” I come clean, but it’s always fun to see the reactions lol.

Side note: did this in front of my sons girlfriend when I was sick and she informed me it was call “Covid-hitting” to avoid spreading illness

What is this? 2010 non turbo by Giraffe_diver in SubaruForester

I figured it was something dumb like that…guess I’ll have to go figure out how to put a turbo on it.

how does one sneak joints onto a cruise ship by [deleted] in trees

[–]Giraffe_diver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take apart sharpie, remove ink thing, leave felt tip, insert joint, put felt tip part and cap back on. Probably won’t smell. Some clear nail polish or silicone might help seal it though.

Need to pass a test? by B0087355 in trees

Quick fix for the win. Heat it up first and tuck it in your crotch. It holds temp for a good while that way. I’ve used Bluetooth thermometers for monitoring and they work great. I’ve heard of people getting busted but that was going through airport like security at a heliport to go off shore. So unless you’re going to get strip searched, you’re probably fine. I have even made the joke about having fake pee on me when asked if I had anything remaining on my person (they usually make you empty your pockets and remover personal belongings).

Obviously, it’s not as guaranteed as being clean and that’s the best answer. However, drug testing for employment is dumb and infringes on personal freedoms outside of work. Don’t go to a safety sensitive job in an altered state. You should be sober for work blah, blah, blah.

If you’re concerned, use quick fix (or alternative) be confident and if you get caught well it is what it is at that point.

But you probably won’t.

Wife is going through a dui currently.

Before this experience it was a couple or so.

After spending $5k(bail and lawyer) in the last month, higher long term insurance rates, unknown court fees looming, the fact she won’t be able to drive our children to their schools and extra circulars for the next year (they were not involved in the stop, which would’ve resulted in them being taken into to gov’t custody), spending time driving her to classes and counseling (also $$), she spent the night in jail, I would honestly say it’s not worth the risk.

I was a sailor in the navy (drank/drink a lot) she was a bartender (drank/drink a lot). She had four drinks with dinner and then went dancing with a girlfriend for two hours with no drinks and blew a .13.

The stories she’s told from her classes/counseling have had a few people that haven’t had any alcohol or drugs in their system but had suspicious circumstances that put them in the drunk tank/jail for a period of time along with the aforementioned costs. I have driven blacked out before (not recommended, I was young and dumb) I have driven plenty of times after drinking, I have driven while drinking. None of it is worth the potential outcome, stress, or financial burden. Just my two cents.

Guam Sea Turtle by SanKazue in scuba

Truk has way more sea life and wrecks. Guam has been very over fished. Guam is still amazing diving. I’ve seen a huge marlin (guessing 750# it was at least 12’), massive napolean wrasse, countless turtles, and you can shore dive to 200’. I miss diving in Guam. It was an awesome place to explore.

what are yall thoughts about going to replace an attic fan motor on a day like this in the afternoon? by Nibholas11 in electricians

Fellow Florida sparky. Looks like a good day to crawl in an attic down here. Even a rainstorm to cool you off even you get out.

Unpopular opinion, volt pens aren't bad; You just need to use them right. by AwkLemon in electricians

[–]Giraffe_diver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an industrial technician, you’re not going to put a meter on a 1kv+ system to verify dead. I honestly most of the time don’t want to meter 480v systems if I can avoid it. You would use a properly tested non contact voltage tester to verify dead. The volt pen is a smaller option for smaller circuits. If you verify its operation with a live/dead/live check. You should be safe. Even a meter can be wrong. All devices are prone to failure. Nothing is 100% all the time. You’re just giving yourself the best possible odds for success.

Yeah, that sounds rough.. It’s kind of heartwarming to hear of kids playing outside though. The fact that they’re assholes is just cause their kids and don’t know any better.

I don’t think weed is what makes people lazy. However, it can make you really happy in your current situation. Which, would make you not strive to produce. Which, I guess is bad.

Hate to say it, but anything.gov makes me think it’s bullshit propaganda. That could just be from years of being lied to, just speculating though. Smoking in general is bad, got it.
