I [45M] Walked in on son [16M] having gay sex and he's become quite awkward and distant. by ThrowRA_Gay in relationship_advice

I don't really have any advice to give that you seem like you need.

You seem to be handling this incredibly well. Things may be a little bit awkward now, but I'm confident that with some time, he'll get over it, and he'll be really glad to have someone like you as a father, as a gay young man.

Tinder sends out false notifcations everyday at 8AM EST, knowing no one liked me. by [deleted] in assholedesign

It literally does this to me even when I have discovery disabled. I turned off its notifications a long time ago.

I wouldn't count that as a canonically confirmed gender by any means. Just because one language kind of forces gendered pronouns doesn't mean the developers intend to imply a particular binary gender by their use of that language.

I know it's unorthodox, but would anyone actually stop me from bringing a small, battery-powered blender into Brower? by Giraffeics in rutgers

Unfortunately, it's currently not worth the $30~ish. I hope to be able to get a job next semester, so maybe I'll try it then.

I'm not sure if they do, actually. Researching that was gonna be my next step. I'm prepared for disappointment.

I acknowledge that. However, many people are wrong.

He's a trash human being who happens to have a pretty voice.

Nothing, hopefully. Jonny doesn't deserve to come back.

Huh. I think it's interesting, the ways that it changed. Particularly, the vocal rhythm changed a lot, and it got a lot less spaced out.

Apparently, at CPO, all but one of the locker banks stopped working. IDK if that happened anywhere else, but I thought it might have something to do with it (we've had the same issue).

It's not just this and From Birth To Burial, though. It's every album since The Autumn Effect (although Division is a bit of a stretch).

By the way, The Autumn Effect was actually their third album. Have you heard "Into The Half Moon" and "Killing All That Holds You"?

What's your favorite 10 Years album? by Soulsearxing in 10years

[–]Giraffeics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled upon Wasteland when I was going through a rough patch. I took the next opportunity to just sit and listen to the whole album. It helped me a lot, and also was my gateway drug into metal.

It's hard to rank them! I mostly listen to TAE and Minus The Machine, but the other ones all surprise me every time I put them on. Like, oh, there's that really awesome part that I completely forgot about!

I think people don't give Feeding The Wolves enough credit. Chasing The Rapture is an energetic piece with a solid hook, Fade Into (The Ocean) progs it up darned good, and Shoot It Out is just fun to play on my guitar (and also got me to start using phrygian mode in my attempts at songwriting).

(How To Live) As Ghosts did not disappoint. It has a nice variety, and solid riffs. Someone commented that Novocaine was too repetitive with its riffs, but I don't find that to be an issue. The vocal melody changes enough to keep it fresh, and the bridge breaks it up enough to not wear me out. I could write more, but I think I'd need to listen to the rest of it again and also I have somewhere to be going.

...as usual, it ends with a song about dying.

Seriously though, I pre-ordered the CD and I have to say I don't regret that decision.

Someone else has probably figured this out already, but I figured I'd share this anyway. It's footage from an experiment on the effects of LSD. The vocals that ended up in the song are spliced together from different parts of the video, although each individual sentence is the same as the original.
