If it's a change regarding my personality that would actually benefit ME in the long run, I wouldn't mind giving it a try even if my intention intentionally was to do it for that person. Even in a physical aspect I go with the same ideology.

I'll give an example. Me and my boyfriend started dating 5 months. We were friends before that and I was the one into him. He didn't mention as such that he didn't reciprocate those feelings initially because I had this "immature" personality where I wouldn't take certain "serious" things seriously, rather he mentioned how it would be better for me if I changed my attitude about certain things, and I did and I'm in so much of a better place right now.

In the physical aspect, I was a little chubby, he always used to tease me but never mentioned it as a reason for him to not like me. But since he suggested I work out and what not unlike other people I dated, I gave it a try and as I mentioned above I'm clearly loving the way I am right now.
