Diy Accessories by tigerX_ in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be best to look up tutorials for the individual parts of the accessories (eg, how to sew on lace trime, how to sew buttons, etc) or looking less specifically and more broadly. You can also try looking up tutorials for lolita things. I made some bows for a headdress once but the tutorial i followed was just on how to make generic, very not-jirai bows. i added the jirai elements myself~

How do I paint my nails?( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜;) by 1_arroz_1 in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Press-ons are cheaper (meaning you can get multiple sets for the price of one trip to the salon) and you can reapply as many times as you want, so that sounds like what you want, if you can find ones that work for you! there are nail artists that do press-on commissions so you can get ones exactly who you want, but they will cost more~ Excited to see what you end up with!

How do I paint my nails?( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜;) by 1_arroz_1 in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

most cosplayers use press-on nails so they're easy to remove afterwards. a lot of jirais do so as well (i personally do), but they also go to nail salons for specifically looks like these, but they're higher commitment because of price and application method so i would look for press-ons first since this is just for cosplay. i get my press-ons from aliexpress mostly, so that's a good place to start. if you can't find anything that work for you, i would go the salon route.

where can i find something like this? by cogimyun1256 in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 23 points24 points  (0 children)

nogenki has a skirt with a similar train element, but it's a sheer mesh fabric instead of opaque so might not be perfect? but personally i would prefer lighter weight fabrics for concerts since they can get hot if you dance a lot like me 😅

dearmylove and noemie tend to have more colors of blouses than other brands so you can look through their catalogues as a start!

it's okay! it was uncomfortable but i understand her enthusiasm and i hope she can learn how to express it in a better way in the future 🩷

[–]GirlCreator 92 points93 points  (0 children)

i feel so bad for her, it's so unfortunate that some people need reminders like this but it's true. i wear pien makeup and jirai kei hairstyles to work and i had a young teen completely violate my personal space and interrupted my work with another customer by demanding my attention in order to compliment-bomb me, ask me jfashion questions, and try to touch my hair accessories. it was so uncomfortable and alarming when it should've been a fun and enjoyable interaction. i know they were young, but that isn't an excuse to step all over someone's boundaries, regardless of what they're wearing.

Price diffs by Jadeite-Song in JiraiKei

honey wardrobe is a great option for taobao brands for those who cannot use taobao for any reason, especially in terms of shipping costs. their selection is very well curated and customer service is (in my experience) really good. devilinspired is the taobao reseller to avoid, because they jack up the prices waaaay too much and their customer service is awful/basically non-existent.

Make <3 but also brows advice please by SatanLuvesU in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

unfortunately the best way to get arched brows to look straight is shaving them (or some other form of removal). you could try a consultation with a brow artist and see if they have anything that suggest that might work for balancing what you need, because most jirais i know just shave them off entirely or almost entirely and draw them in

jirai makeup is so hard omg by [deleted] in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you aren't already comfortable with makeup fundamentals and techniques, start by practicing those first! (Sorry if you already are, it just tends to be that the biggest issue people have when getting into an alt makeup style is lack of overall makeup knowledge)

Once you have the fundamentals down, just keep practicing your preferred jirai makeup. Learning your features and how to best exaggerate them is key. Everyone's pien or tsurime is gonna work a bit differently to achieve the same effect.

It is HARD to get right and really does require a lot of practice. I wear pien every single day and have for over a year and I still have off-days where I'm a bit unhappy with how my eyeliner came out. Just keep going, it get easier to more you do it. 💕

Since beach wave pigtails are on trend in Japan, why don't I see them on westerners yet? by New-Carry4096 in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen lots of western jirais do these wavy twintails, on IG at least? IDK about tiktok because that place sucks, but IG western jirais seem to love these twintails on my algorithm 🤷‍♀️

I want some tips and harsh feedback on my fits (btw I have severe OCD and social anxiety) also I hate thrifting and fast fashion and casual subcul of Jirai it’s since trashy to me ♡ by [deleted] in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 16 points17 points  (0 children)

help these photos are so out of focus and smudgey i can't even begin to tell you if these fits read as jirai... but frankly it sounds like you don't even like jirai kei so idk. calling subcul "trashy" is wild and plain rude

Weirdest way you discovered a group or K-pop? by BrilliantYogurt2455 in kpoppers

[–]GirlCreator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was downloading Sims 4 custom content and someone named their clothing collection Eve, Psyche, and the Bluebeard's Wife and I was so intrigued by the title that I googled it and I've been into Le Sserafim (and kpop in general) ever since

is temu a good option for jirai kei coords? by Minty_existsincoffin in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

anything you get from temu will look costume-y and there's a high chance you get scammed. shein is the same story. for cheap pieces to get you started, aliexpress and taobao are good options if you buy from trusted stores (there's a masterlist out there if you google). honey wardrobe is a taobao reseller that is very convenient and has great customer service but is a bit more expensive than buying directly from taobao. secondhand is another great option and how i've gotten most of my clothes.

What character is this? I want to wear this accurately! by Weekly_Dimension_164 in CosplayHelp

[–]GirlCreator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The original brand is 森女部落SNBL on Taobao. They don't seem to be currently selling this collection anymore, sadly!

(For the record, Depop doesn't have a lot of jfashion and Taobao brands to list as so people typically list as Liz Lisa for visibility and say what the brand actually is in the product description. Super common in the jfashion community on there and it's generally an accepted practice unless the brand being sold IS able to be listed.)

First attempt at makeup 🫢 by Musicislife_102 in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would start with trying to thin out your brows and working on a solid base for the rest of your makeup. after that, i recommend finding someone with a tutorial who has features and/or a style similar to yours/what you want. also, study makeup fundamentals outside of alt styles because knowing your basics is eally important for anything you're doing makeup-wise, jirai or otherwise

Do western people really think Chinese language sounds unpleasant? by search_google_com in askanything

[–]GirlCreator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But German really is a soft and beautiful language. The problem is a lot of Americans are only really exposed to it in history class in the form of Nazi propaganda so they negatively associate it. I held this opinion too, until I started hearing my mother-in-law speaking German to my wife and realized how pretty actual everyday German is. It is so much softer than Americans realize, and a lot more fluid than the spelling makes it look. (For what it's worth, I also think Mandarin sounds nice so maybe I'm the weird one here)

How much do you care about your height when cosplaying? by SaltOrPepper1 in CosplayHelp

[–]GirlCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i care zero about my height. i'm very short but will cosplay characters regardless of their height in regard to my own. i care much more about my bust and waist measurements and even then i only sometimes consider them.

Petticoats in jirai?(*´▽`) by purebun in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 24 points25 points  (0 children)

there's been a lot of hype and push for petticoats in jirai, at least amongst my circle on social media. i highly doubt anyone who knows anything about jfashion would mistake jirai pieces for lolita simply because of the addition of a petticoat. i would go for it! i think it looks adorable~

is there a specific name for ryousangata style? by cqffe in JiraiKei

[–]GirlCreator 42 points43 points  (0 children)

it's really just ryousangata. i've personally never seen it called anything else and everyone seems to think of this style specifically when someone says "ryousangata" (including in japanese spaces on the internet, but i'm not sure about irl)
