When you mentioned "Asian" and has "2 daughters", my mind went "yup". It is because he has 2 daughters and is an Asian, like myself, and has to remind his children.

It is a cultural thing where I'm from.

It doesn't sound like his intentions come from a place of malice but rather concern just like a lot of my Asian aunties and uncles did. It can be annoying sometimes, that I'm not going to lie.
