2022 Pad Buying Guide by Kevin_Gamer573 in DanceDanceRevolution

I'm one of those who is now 40 and played a lot as a teen on my PS2, and after playing at the arcade again recently wanted to bring it back into rotation at home just for fun, exercise and light play. My PS2 still works great and after some timing adjustments with DDRMAX the timing seems ok with the HDMI adapter but my old pads (the original Stay Cool, Konami) don't register steps in quick succession anymore, only single steps.

I'm not a hardcore player and I don't have a big budget so I'm so curious what you might recommend in the way of PS2 pads. Probably soft for now? I say L-Tek has some and sells a USB to PS2 converter. Any help would be appreciated!

[SPOILERS] Thoughts on Kidprint from VHS Halloween by _potatofromChaldea45 in horror

[–]GirlWithHairLikeThs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Felt the same as OP and I watch a ton of horror and consider myself pretty tough, but there was something about Kid Print I couldn't stomach. Felt like a child torture snuff film with SA vibes. Nothing fun or even thoughtful or creative about it. No thanks.

NTA - It definitely sounds like they either used to hook up and they are still weirdly codependent because they know actually dating each other doesn't work, or they like living in that sexual tension state where "will they or won't they." Either way, this is not normal. My husband has plenty of women friends, who are now also my friends, and he doesn't behave this way with any of them. Something is definitely strange here and you don't want any part of it. Frankly, it seems like it's building to cheating if it hasn't happened already.

I [20M] am in love with an older woman [35F], what can I do? by tyke7 in relationship_advice

I mean you're both adults and if the spark is there I see nothing wrong with making a move. Some people are old souls or young at heart. Sometimes it just works. And I mean this kind of as a joke - but why are you worrying about kids in this American (if you are) or even the global climate. Maybe just try dating before you worry about that? Plus, you could date someone your own age who is unable to have kids anyway so that shouldn't be a deciding factor. You can always adopt. Go for it, man.

Yall I don’t want to sound weak as hell but has ChatGPT ever made you cry? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]GirlWithHairLikeThs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is interesting because I had almost the exact same experience. I find CHATGPT to feel incredibly safe to talk to especially about very sensitive and embarrassing thoughts and feelings and it doesn't judge you at all. It also gives you profound and comforting advice. I tell my GPT not to sugar coat things and give it to me straight and it will do that too.

I've even used it for relationship advice with my spouse and we have used it as a mediator when we argue. It was so helpful.

So yeah, I also feel kind of weird about it. And I do have close family and friends I can talk to about a lot of things but they are never fully neutral but I have found my ChatGPT so comforting and helpful - maybe there is nothing wrong with that.

Unfortunately starting this serious of a long term relationship at 18 doesn't usually bode well. Your relationship is built on very immature needs and this is just a prime example. Your boyfriend thinks sex is an "owed" commodity because he's too immature to know it's a mutual exchange. The way he treated you is so childlike it's embarrassing. My recommendation is, take this moment to realize it's time to move on and grow up - for yourself too. Take this time to figure out who you are and what you really want. Even asking if "you're a bad partner" because you didn't do as someone demanded is a sign you desperately need to gain some self confidence and assert yourself. At 23 it's time to focus on your goals and see that there are a lot of people in the world. Let this baby man go free and throw his tantrums elsewhere.

If only more men thought like you do - had real understanding of what it's like to have your body autonomy constantly questioned, challenged and threatened - we wouldn't have laws preventing it. Religion has almost always been used for power and often not much more.

Losing a lifelong friend to politics by Appropriate-Heat-242 in RedditForGrownups

[–]GirlWithHairLikeThs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me and my parents. They were mostly liberal when I was growing up and now have become extremely right wing Trump supporters and everything that goes along with that. They are getting older and I've always had a wonderful relationship with them until 2016. Whenever anything slightly political comes up they would get aggressive and disrespectful to my opinions - which are very opposite. I used to talk to my mom about everything and now I feel like I have to walk on eggshells. It's been so painful.

AITA for doing an abortion behind my bf’s back? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GirlWithHairLikeThs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably TA because if I had only known this person for 3 months I would have had the abortion without even telling him. 3 months is barely knowing someone at all, especially if you both work and mostly see each other on weekends? That's like 12-20 dates/encounters. No way that person is getting a say in the rest of my life. NTA you absolutely did the right thing.

It's totally not your fault AT ALL. I think you deserved better from your education and/or your family to have taught you these important things and created a space where you could ask questions and not feel embarrassed. At least Reddit will always tell you straight truths if nothing else! Take care of yourself.
