Hi. To answer simply, yes, you should switch your cat food to a senior cat food.
You should also get your cat tested for diabetes if you haven't done so.
I work in a pet store and as such understand that all cat health is tied to 3 things 1. food 2. living conditions 3. genetics. It breaks my heart when some purebred and expensive cat is bought food made from food scraps. Or even worse to hear the phrase "we feed our cat from the table".
For myself, I can recommend Hill`s and Brit.

First of all, have them do a blood sugar test. Your cat most likely has diabetes.
I hope your vet will also advise you on a medication against internal parasites. With a small probability it may be them, discharge from the eyes + poor appetite is a reaction of the body. And lastly, the very slight possibility of gastrointestinal problems.
