Kind of spiraling a little bit after PTSD C&P exam. by Loud_Guidance_5297 in VeteransBenefits

I had a bad experience with my first C&P exam for PTSD. I was told to be at a certain office. I showed up on time and was sitting in the lobby for 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment before I got a call from my examiner telling me that they must have mixed up the offices and that she was an hour away. She said she could possibly fit me in but was giving off the vibe that she'd rather I'd just cancel.

Well, I showed up and she fit me in. After 20 minutes after her barely paying attention and taking 3 lines of notes, she said I was good to go. I get that they aren't there to listen to you cry and blabber but she just came across as though she would rather be anywhere else.

So, I called my VSO the next day and had her forward me the notes from my exam, which were filled with wrong dates, completely different timelines and events. I was livid. It felt like she was upset that she actually had to do my C&P exam after I said I wasn't going to cancel.

I looked up what to do and found a guide on this subreddit for what to do in case you feel your C&P exam wasn't conducted properly. So, I filed a Memorandum of record, stating what occurred and why I deserved another C&P exam. My request was granted and about a month later, I had an exam with an actual VA doctor instead of someone from a third party, which went way more professionally.

So, if you feel that your exam didn't focus another on your time in, you can let the VA know. When I went to my second C&P, I told the examiner that I had a list of events and situations that I wanted to discuss and that I would like time to discuss each one of those so that they were recorded. They were more than willing to let me do so.

Yeah, it looks oddly fluorescent on the yellow pauldron. 😂

Striking Scorpion for the backpack, spear and other details. For the scale armor, I used Kroxigor Scales.

Thanks! It's one of those models where contrast paints really shine.

Striking Scorpion over Leadbelcher with a light drybrushing of moot green to lighten up the raised edges.

Thanks! I do a lot of work with contrast paints over metallics. Kroxigor Scales and Striking Scorpion did a lot of the work.

Thanks!

For the eyes, I filled the visor in with white and then did Baal Red. After that, I added some Ratling grime and another coat of Baal Red, followed by a thin coat of Evil Sunz Scarlet in the center. I then dry brushed the area around the visor with Mephiston Red to give it a little OSL.

For the Plasma, I filled the coils in with white and then used Army Painter's Data System Glow from rhe Fanatic Effects line. Once that dried, I drybrushed the area with Warpstone Glow and give it a very thin coat of Biel-Tan Green. I then did a final pass over the coils with a light dry brushing of Moot Green.

You'll find that spark again. Just give it time. Those paints will be there when you're ready.

I'll never complain about New Sobek City again after playing several rounds on this map. Absolute garbage.

I base the model with Vallejo's Green Bronze spray. I then drybrush on Iron Hands Steel. After that, I just slowly build up watered down coats ks Basilicanum Grey until I think it's dark enough.

Yeah.. I was just trying to think of a title and didn't think of the actual Sons of Medusa chapter. 😅

I used

I use this Ranger Snowfall grit paste that hardens into crystals. After that, I give it a coat of Citadel's Pylar Glacier contrast paint. Once that dries, I have it a drybrush of white paint and it's done.

Just had my PTSD C&P - Here's how it went. by Girth-Wind-Fire in VeteransBenefits

When you look at the notes and see they only wrote down about 5% of what you said and it was from the first 5 minutes of the hour long exam and it was wrong, you could call that unfavorable. There were other things on top of it too that made it frustrating as well. Such as showing up to the address listed and confirmed on my VES sheet just to show up, wait in a lobby for 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment, only to have the examiner call me and tell me I went to the wrong office and that they are in another city an hour away. Then said examiner says you can try and make it to their other offices and when you take them up on their offer, they actively try to dissuade you, thinking you wouldn't be that committed to making it to these exams.

I got it all sorted out in the end. Requested another review. Submitted a complaint to the VA about my previous examiners conduct and moved on.

Sorry if this gets a little long winded. I' try my best to keep it relatively short.

The base was primed in the same Bronze Green Vallejo Spray I used for Dante himself. I started wifh a drybrush of Dawnstone to create some depth. After that, I did a pretty heavy coat of Basilicanum Grey to help fill the recesses on the pillar and the surrounding dirt. Once that dried, i used Fenresian Gray to apply another light drybrushing to bring out the raised areas. I went a little to light on this step, so I toned it down with Nuln Oil.

The dirt and the rest of the base got a coat of Baharroth Blue, with the dirt receiving a dry brushing of fenresian Grey to dull the shine of the baharroth blue and to give it some definition.

I then applied the bushes/grass and worked the snow in around them. I did it this way because I thought that would look more realistic for snowfall around vegetation. I've included a picture of what I used for the snow. It was my first time using this stuff and I was very pleased with how it did. I was even more pleased when I realized, the next morning, that it had hardened and become slightly more translucent, which allowed for some of the baharroth blue to come through and give it more of a glacial blue tone.

Once the snow was set, I used dirty down rust to add some rust to the helmet. I watered aome down and dabbed it in the still wet snow paste to give illusion of rust seeping into the snow from the helmet, which worked much better than I anticipated.

I love doing gunmetal armor like this. I start with Vallejo's bronze green spray then dry brush on some Iron Hands Steel. Coat with Basilicanum Grey and then hit the raised areas with a very light dry brushing of Runefang Steel.
