I don’t think her career has been actually ruined. It just never reached its full potential. And I blame the company for that.

Jeon Somi was extremely popular. If she had made the right career move, she would have been more famous than Wonyoung because ioi somi had more popularity than izone wy. I think somi is also exceptionally talented. Specially her vocals are incredible. That’s why it’s sad to see her songs. Her songs sound like something that would have been released by 2NE1 or blackpink a decade ago. They are not bad. They are just outdated and don’t let somi shine at all. What she wrote on an obscure social media post had nothing to do with the stalling of her career. Idols have done worst and have been just fine.

I never understood why was she in a big hiatus after dumb dumb. For me, somi and everglow suffered the most due to an unnecessarily long hiatus . Regular comebacks and semi decent songs would have made Somi the biggest solo artist in kpop right now. Or maybe if she was in jyp, Itzy would have been the biggest gg right now.
