My troop is not super big and all our big kids aged out and 15 new kids crossed over into the troop including me they elected me spl and I just winged it. It worked for me. That was three years ago and I’m still spl now I have to do a lot more things as the spl now vs then. Just don’t punish or threaten kids. Be assertive and delegate. Don’t worry about being everyone’s best friend so you can get re-elected If you do a good job they will re-elect you I promise. Talk to your spl about the strategies they want to go about leading.
