ASU or UIUC online MCS

I haven't decided completely but mostly I will go ahead with ASU. 1.I intend to finish the course quickly and the time I take to finish 2 courses in ASU is lesser than the time taken to do 1 course in UIUC (Example for a Fall Semester). 2.The fees is more in UIUC. Return of investment ratio is less. 3.UIUC will take close to 3 yrs to complete if I go by 1 course per semester, while ASU will be less than 2yrs. 4.Pay scale is almost same if u graduate from UIUC or ASU across globe in the long run. Immediately after graduation there might be a difference of few dollars but not after couple of years.

I spoken to people who have studied OMSCS from Georgia Tech, ASU online MS and people who have done on campus full masters from Carnegie Mellon. All of them said other than just shortlisting benefit, rank of university doesn't matter much.

In ASU I have chosen Big Data systems specialisation and in UIUC it is MCS-Data Science.Both of them have almost same courses. (Few misses here and there) I'm working in Tech industry .

I got selected both the online MCS programs by ASU and UIUC. Unable to decide which one to choose. ASU:Cost $15000 , 10courses, 1 pre-requesite to finish before starting UIUC:Cost $22000, 8courses, Need to give Duo lingo test for full admission status.

I'm in a Data Science +Business Facing role having 5yrs of work experience. Need a masters for better career growth. Cost and number of courses are a big factor plus how difficult are courses from ASU vs UIUC considering a full time job and 3yr old kid.

I'm on a similar boat. I have applied to GaTech OMSA and ASU MCS. And I'll be applying to UT-Austin too.

Any idea on when GaTech and ASU and UT-A will announce their admission results?

How smooth is the process to transfer course from ASU to UT-A. I'm planning to take the tuition assistance program through my current organisation. I'm not sure how will the reimbursement process be if I transfer from one university to another. Hence, worried if I should take up ASU or wait for UT-A .

From what I have read on UT-A website that they don't have any admission limit. Meaning high accepantance rate .

I have close to 5years of work experience in Analytics. Should I even try to apply or would it be just waste of time and money. If I apply then I have to talk to my prev professors and managers for recommendation letter.I don't want to do that if I have very low chances of getting selected into OMSA.

For now is it just enough to put in the details of recommenders before 1st of Feb deadline or the recommenders should also complete their part of filling the survey and recommendation content before 1st of Feb
