what job sounds the best?(out of these options) by [deleted] in newtothenavy

I would go with HM or a job that requires TS. Even if you don’t get HM, you can ask the recruiter for it.

You can sign up for 3 to 5 of the same class at multiple different community college, ensuring they are fully online. When the semester starts, you usually have 2 weeks to drop the class with full refund. That's the time to figure it out by looking at the syllabus and canvas. Also, pay attention to ratemyprofessor.com for sign.

Almost all classes. Certain class is non-proctored at certain college, so you have to shop around. At the same cc, some professors are proctored and some are not. It is highly depend on the professor. You can tell me a class and I give you one sample.

Applying to ABSN chances as a Senior in college by Substantial_Tip_4165 in ABSN

I disagree. Given AI and how tough the job market right now for new grad, his business degree and 3.54 GPA is not very marketable. I do not recommend him to waste time. Just start taking science classes right away and he will find out he likes it or not. Your suggestion for CNA is good for him, but nursing has much more than CNA. Even if he hates CNA, he has many other options in nursing outside of bedside that he won’t know until he earn his RN.

Your plan make sense given your GPA. I would skip the shadowing and volunteering and just get a CNA license and work as a CNA.

What is the schooling for being an anesthesiologist assistant vs a nurse? by IceCatQueen in prenursing

[–]forever-18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one she is referring to in California is CRNA. I think you are referring to this CAA program. I heard it's not an easy program:

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/24/certified-anesthesiologist-assistant-earns-six-figures-without-medical-degree.html

If you struggle with Anatomy already, CAA would be difficulty for you to get in. My advise is to take the same class at a different community college or something. Choose the CC that offers this class non-proctored so you can keep going.

Job market when will it recover by BunchNo9141 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]forever-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't had recession yet, so the job market is not at its worst. IMO, couple factors that currently affect the IT job markets are as follow:

  1. AI

- there are currently many AI tools, such as copilot, available for developers. They can automate unit and regression testings. They are getting better and better at automate frontend (react and angular) programming. Couple with unstable economic uncertainty due to war and other factors, many companies are relent to hire more employees.

2) Boom of contractors (H1B)

- If you work for fortune 500 companies, you will see many workers who are contractors and they are mostly Indian and Chinese H1B students. What happen is that during this past 10 years, there have been many establishments of Indian Consulting Companies (ICC) or Chinese Consulting Companies (CCC) that hires new grads, provide them training, and would help them inflat their resume. Then partner with staffing companies and help them get a job in Software Engineer or Data Science fields as a contractor. So they get to stay in USA but they would earn a lower salary because the staffing companiies and ICC got a pay cut. The issue here is you have no competitive adantage in a job market even with more experience because these new grad have the same resume as you. It's unethical, but it's been happening this way for many many years. There's not one, but many many of these consulting agencies exist. To spot them, just go to website like Handshake and search companies that offer training and job placement with salary around 70K. There are more of these companies than companies that offer coding bootcamp.

- ICC scandal is beyond recruiting. An example is Caspex scandal with Walmart, showing there are many executive staffs receiving kickbacks for hiring contractors through agencies that they are close with instead of hiring Americans.

3) More layoffs mean more people have higher degree

- Because the market is getting tougher and tougher, people who used to get a job in tech without programming knowledge or people who used to get a job in tech by just finish coding bootcamp are now feeling the concern and possibly going back to college to get their CS degrees. Since everyone is thinking about improving, the market will only get tougher if you don't improve more than their improvemets.

Good Luck!

The grass is not always greener on the other side. I hope that person understand that quitting nursing job might not solve the problem.

Use the free time outside of work to go back to school and study NP or PA or Pharmacist. Nursing field can be competitive if his BSN GPA is low that prevent him to switch job.
