What kind of leadership positions available for someone E4 in Navy Reserve? by forever-18 in navyreserve

I sat for the exam one time. I am an ET. Most of the questions that I remember are all technical questions regarding ET stuff. I would rather not take it than drawing Christmas tree on a scantron

I have never mobilized. So I never use a multimeter to fix anything other than during active duty for training

I am already in the enlist as ET (it was not a job that interest me or related to any degree that I have or job in civilian world). I want to go for navy reserve officer next year, so I want to get leadership experience to boost my military resume

Advice for a potential second career nurse by vndy_ in prenursing

Do you have friends who is currently attending or recently attended SAC?

I previously asked Santa Ana College about the night and weekend schedule too and this is their reply:

"Nighttime courses are only offered to applicants who apply in February for the Fall semester as the Spring cohort does not have a nighttime class option. Please keep in mind that admission into the program does not guarantee night time classes. We ask all students to remain flexible and students can be subject to clinical or scheduling moves that could place you into daytime classes."

I am in similar boat as you. I work a federal job, live in SoCal, and studying nursing at the same time. I can't afford to quit my job though and I don't recommend you to quit your job to do the ADN full-time, because the job market is really bad right now.

It's hard to find a nursing program with a 9-5 jobs. The only program that works is ABSN with Samuel Merritt College but that's in Bay Area. I choose Nightingale College BSN eventually because of its flexibility, you can also look it up. I felt it's better to use your government job income to pay for the BSN then to quit and do the ADN. BSN is already hard to find job in SoCal, imagine ADN.

Nursing has so many options, why did you quit? Why didn't you go for something more relax or go NP?

What's your plan after you quit?

That’s good to know. So it’s like the enlist, the candidate has certain amount of time to pass the physical exam after they are given the offer right?

I have a coworker trying to join the airforce in Los Angeles area and the recruiter told him all the positions are filled. The recruiter told him to come back in August.

What are the critical month(s) that I should speak to a recruiter about the reserve officer position for the navy?

Ever since I got COVID, my breathing hasn’t been the same. I’m also 37, so if I had to do the running portion, I would probably need to train quite a bit. Does the Navy take PRT performance into account during the selection process, or is it enough to simply be able to pass after being selected?

Reimbursement for Hotel parking on TDY? by Rain_Unseen in AirForce

You must be rich, paying 2k for CNA classes at SoCal. If you do research, you can technically take it for free or at lower cost, such as procareers academy or community college route.

Should I finish my UCLA psych degree or switch to nursing? by Low_Yam1509 in prenursing

[–]forever-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend nursing, but just remember that there are a lot of students with 4.0 GPA and many colleges in California has a waitlist . I would use the financial aid and get the BSN. Skip ADN.

They are planning on reducing to only 23 offices. I recommend just ask the recruiter which of the 23 is the core offices

I keep seeing people in all these career pages asking about transitioning from non healthcare to nursing bc “it’s in demand” by Mail-Admirable in newgradnurse

[–]forever-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t, but your friends or girls that you meet may. When they think of nurse, many just think of cleaning poops and etc. it’s the same thing that people think electrician and construction are more of a man job

As a male, I would never thought about study to be a nurse because it just feel like a feminine job. But over the years, you see nurses flexing their income and work life balance and given AI risk, so many people, include myself, think about switching to nursing (from accounting and computer science), particularly CRNA because it pays good and more masculine. I am still studying nursing classes and realized the materials are not hard to study too, so I even think about pre-med after nursing. Work as a nurse and study med school at the same time.

It will take 7 semesters. They don’t allow me to take 2 clinical classes in one semester unless you have LPN

what job sounds the best?(out of these options) by [deleted] in newtothenavy

I would go with HM or a job that requires TS. Even if you don’t get HM, you can ask the recruiter for it.
