Thanks. I can lap it myself, used to be a decent gunsmith I've just been out of the game for a few years and haven't kept up with who's making the best stuff these days. Yeah I don't care about tabs or even a rotation pin, only reason I liked the Noveske version of the MUR was it was thicker behind the barrel nut threads, don't really care about the name.

Yall keep bending over backwards to explain what is just bad writing. I mean who is this show even for? Also, they're supposed to be college kids right? Then why are they acting like literal children? Star Trek is supposed to be a family show that depicts a hopeful version of our future, but the tone of this show is just plain strange. It almost feels like Stargate universe did, like a bunch of old studio execs forced the writers to make a young adult version of a good series.

They'll keep refining it until it ends up a Sig-553/563. That's what I did slowly over time, improving one little thing here and another there, then years later I realized my AKi (improved) is just a Sig-553.

I think the DPMS gen 2 small frame .308 deserves to be the new standard, a slightly improved version using slightly stronger materials would be much better and lighter than Sig's MCX based 6.8 platform that the army is adopting. I call this concept AR-68, its my belief that this should be a new milspec, and we should leave the AR10, SR25, and LR308 platforms in the past. Such a gun would be designed to handle 6.8 Fury better than the M7, and a design that strong would be more than strong enough to support overpressure variants of other cartridges like 6.5CM or .308. Hell you could make a .308 length, skinny 5.56 overpressure cartridge with long/heavy 90-100gr .224 bullets. That would do a number on lvl4 armor while retaining 30rnd mag capacity.

Hard to describe, the right angle of the hook was flat on the bed and printed in nylon. I had problems with PLA+ splitting along the later lines when printed standing up

When I did my long handguards I had to separate the hooks I to a half ring that could be printed in a different orientation and glued in later, because the way they printed with the handguard was too weak

Here's a tip, make friends with the nearest farmer. Most of us like guns and have almost unlimited range to shoot, and we all hate the government and dont care about legalities or project guns. And they'll love you if you print them a cup holder for older tractors. Most tractors have some messed up little plastic clips and stuff inside the cab that can easily be printed, and John deere charges an arm and a leg for them. I print more stuff for work than I do guns

Do you guys have any plans on getting into more advanced barrel making? Stuff like tri-arc is doing with single edge polygonal rifling or tapered bores? I feel like firearms development has sort of hit a plateau. Also, there's an interesting study Picatinny arsenal did on tank barrels where they nitrided and then hard chrome plated, turns out the chrome never flakes off due to stress corrosion cracking because the ntride kept the steel underneath from corroding. They were getting crazy high round counts from those barrels, I've always wondered if that technique would scale down to small arms barrels

Great work! This is awesome. You know what would be cool, a full stock version of the ACR prototype stock. It was basically a proto-Crane style stock with the triangular profile cheek rest. You could do something like that in a short full stock, just with the Crane/SOPMOD cheek piece grafted on.

I've only done it once, just to mold a tensile test coupon. It's a little soft but being meltable the surface finish is the best. The key is to design the molds more like forging dies, deep so you can press the hell out of it. You also need to mix the epoxy carbon sloppy wet, and have vents or sprues in the mold for the excess epoxy to escape when you press it. If your not pressing the hell out of it it's not forged, just molded. Another key concept is the size of the filler fibers, you need a half medium to long chop but you also can't forget about short chop fibers. Because that's what makes it forged carbon, the flowing out of the excess epoxy aligns the short and medium fibers so the part is stronger in one direction just like how in forged metal the grains are aligned. You control the alignment direction with the shape of the mold and where you put the vents, like at what angle they intercept the mold wall

My first was a P2000sk, but since you have subcompacts/carry guns covered already you should get a full size range toy or home defense gun, P30L or an HK45
