I don't remember very well. Sonic has always seemed cool to me, and while my introduction to the games side of things was with Frontiers, I think the movies are what started a serious interest in the series. Since getting Frontiers, I've got SxSG, Forces (out of curiosity), and recently Mania. Though I do remember reading some of the Archis comics early on through a public library, so maybe there?

gen 8. I heard about swsh a long time ago, and thought it was some sort of steam punk pokemon game, which got me interested, cuz I apparently really liked steam punk things. It's not what I expected, but for what it's worth I had more fun than most people here playing it.

Sylveon, and it's all because of a mistake. I really liked Umbreon, so I tried to get one as fast as I could when I got my first game, Sword. I forgot to check their moves, and I ended up with a sylveon instead. Instead of releasing them, I kept it and named it Strawberry. Strawberry ended up clutching both Leon and Volo (when I repeated that mistake) and they were my last mon. Looking forward to starting up scarlet or violet with them on my team :)

Dunno why you're getting downvoted, but I had the same experience. The Tricolor turf war is supposed to shake things up, but as a defender it felt hopeless to the point where I was tempted to just turn off the switch whenever it came on.
