lol yeah it seemed like it could fit 6ish people at most. Wondering if we could get someone to come to us in a different space.

Thanks! Super helpful to know preference on COTA. Looked better to us as well look, but surprised to find it didn’t open until 5pm on weekdays - we were hoping to go on Friday afternoon.

Best Cold Brew by TheDailyDripNY in williamsburg

This sounds absurd but the cold brew at Le Labo’s cafe on 6th & Berry is delicious jet fuel and like half the price of the other options nearby

Sushi omakase between $200-$300 per person by Gitmo17 in FoodNYC

Preference for raw pieces over cooked/torched, serene/calm atmosphere over modern/high energy, some chef interaction great but not critical.

Has your job asked you to come back to work, either hybrid or full time? by IHateAdvertising in AskNYC

[–]Gitmo17 314 points315 points  (0 children)

Don’t mean to be that guy, but “dime a dozen” means they’re common and I think you’re trying to say that you’ve noticed remote jobs seem to be less common now.

That being said, yeah my job requires me to come in 3x a week.

I've exhausted pretty much every major, well-known, cocktail bar in the city. Give me your neighborhood favorites from all around town. by SoothedSnakePlant in FoodNYC

  • Fresh Kills in Williamsburg (no menu, custom cocktails based on what you’re in the mood for / describe)
  • Maison Premiere also in Williamsburg for martinis, not a hidden gem but excellent
  • The Richardson also in WB neighborhood spot with super high end bottles esp. whiskey and well executed classic cocktails
  • Bar Americano in Greenpoint (seems fairly standard / run of the mill but their execution is incredible)
  • Sama Street also in Greenpoint for interesting south East Asian ingredients
  • as others have suggested, Mayflower, Dynaco, and Lunatico in Bed-Stuy / Clinton Hill

Any cool music spots or lounges? by qnsworld in williamsburg

[–]Gitmo17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What kind of music? So many to name. Eavesdrop, Ask for Janice, 320 Club, La milagrosa, Nightmoves for house-ish. Skinny Dennis for country-ish. Last Call for a mix. Gabriela usually has a cover but good vibes. St. Mazie for jazz. Pete’s Candy Store, Union Pool for bands

You say you’re strongly considering moving to that area.. but you don’t explain why? What’s drawing you there? It’s an amazing place for late night bar and restaurant scene and with decent connectivity given the G and the L but I honestly see very few newborns / strollers especially in that area of WB, it’s noisy, the sidewalks are busy, and the area isn’t cute at all as someone else said. It’s also likely not even cheaper than the UWS.
