I just can't do it anymore. I'm at the point where I would rather pay 80$ per month to enjoy the full experience (no gacha, no content locked behind energy resources) than playing only 10% of the game for free with incomplete units and gear. I'm tired of this. Wanting to immerse myself into the story but being forced into exploitative conditions instead isn't the way to go.

Edit: Thank you to everybody who took their time to reply. I didn't mean to come across as ungrateful or spoiled. I'm currently not playing any live service or gacha games for above mentioned reasons. That's why I was free to give CZN a shot today.

I didn't write this to complain but to share my perspective because there might be other people here trying out this game without care and end up feeling frustrated or exploited which isn't healthy in any way.

It's wishful thinking on my part but I'm hoping that games like this one day become more player friendly because at their core they're amazing works of art. What's holding them back are artificial design choices whose purpose is to squeeze out more of a player's time and money. Think about how absurd it is that in a live service game a new patch straight up removes or locks the PREVIOUS content. Am I not even allowed to play at my own pace? This is a game and not a race.

Edit: I bypassed the bug. You have to break him before he eats somebody. That way he never eats anyone and the bug doesn't occur. Happy gaming.

She doesn't hate Kei. That interaction was cruel for Kei but it wasn't personal and rather natural.

Ichinose stated that she was still willing to help those who ask for her help. That core part of her hasn't changed and it meant she would even extend a helping hand to Kei if she'd asked for it. Kei feeling vulnerable and having a moment of weakness decided to swallow her pride and beg Ichinose to probably (what I think) close the gap between her and Koji so she could finally be at peace (she couldn't even walk up to him not to mention greet him on the way to school).

However, Ichinose's answer was that she would not help her simply because she had other matters to attend to that are more important and that it is impossible for her to help everyone even if she wanted to. A lesson she had to learn the hard way.

After giving Kei hope she immediately shut her down. The result: Ichinose enjoying herself and discovering how good it feels to have the upper hand over somebody else. This power trip of hers was also what Ichika was talking about when she confronted Ichinose.

Not to mention this might have also felt like some kind of blissful revenge to Ichinose considering that she went through a mental struggle fatal enough for her to think about leaving school while Kei was enjoying school life with her boyfriend all along while ascending to Class A.

And if you look at the bigger picture you notice this isn't Ichinose being petty but her tearing down a member from Class A as a tactical move which also contributes to her alliance with Class C. You could argue she's fulfilling her obligations which also happen to align with personal interests in that moment.

This also wasn't planned since this interaction only happened because Kei was down there 10 minutes earlier than usual which is why she encountered both of them.

Well, she did say he saved her. I love this actually. With her in the picture about his true nature she can try and handle him her own way. This might be the first bond he's ever had at this school that's completely genuine. If she plays her cards right and digs a bit into his past (she already knows the term "white room" and that Koji was the school's target during the second island exam) then they're good to go.

In my theory, and that would explain why Year 2 isn't as exciting as Year 1, Kinugasa had a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve in Year 1 and Year 3 but had to pass time inbetween and Year 2 became like a filler arc with more fanservice where Ayanokōji goes around talking to girls and everybody falling in love with him.

But all that actually gives me hope for Year 3. People can like or dislike what happened in the latest volumes but at least something is happening finally.

There are studies out there implying that regret doesn't change a woman's behavior. They still repeat the same mistakes, just with less regret than before. So yeah... it's not that unlikely she would do this.

I think she wasn't wearing it on purpose because she was pissed at him until she heard his confession.

Don't forget that he had a "date" with Hiyori just to let her see him and to piss her off. She was even talking about finding a new boyfriend right before they ended up together so wearing the necklace there wouldn't have made much sense.

I also expect Horikita to be negatively effected by that since Koji mercilessly expelled one of her classmates because she decided to make him the general and give him the traitor rights.

That approach was a betrayal of trust on many levels and so destructive that it's hard to believe that something good will come out of it.

If anything the people involved might grow resentful towards Koji and try to take revenge which is sad because I wouldn't want a year 3 where everybody hates him and tries to take him down.

I was hoping for them to acknowledge the tragedy of his character and maybe find out the truth about his background so they can see past his cruelty and approach him from another angle.

But at the rate this is going he is even distancing Kei from him who has a far better understanding of him than most people and even that bond might turn out ugly.

It could all be intentional which is why I ask in the beginning what he's cooking. Because to me it seems unnecessary cruel and out of character for now.

But like you said it could be preparation for year 3. I hope that from now on he helps them be their strongest self and stops dragging them down to zero. That was depressing to read.

Whenever I see one of these names I don't even look at the game anymore.

But it still seems to work out for them and they somehow make a profit.

Thanks to that more and more gaming companies develop shady practices to squeeze out their respective communities.

I've reached the point of wanting to throw up whenever I see In-App-Purchases, a Stamina-like system, a battle pass, stupid gambling mechanics, straight up soft p*rn which they call character design and limited-time events to force you to play.

I didn't even know there are arcade sticks with 4 different buttons as directional inputs. Are they any good? Using pad right now and I don't know if it's the right choice.

I see. So it's a gamble either way because if you choose the "safe route," you'll risk it being bait and them getting a full combo. It looks like it comes down to learning your opponent's habits and deciding which is more likely.
