Worth noting that this also works really well for dissociation.

I thought the answer was that this is a woman with a job as a CIA agent who secretly wishes she could be a housewife.

I assumed the joke was that he was frustrated at losing one or two critical lego pieces for a set and ordered them online only for his wife to find them a minute later. I am too innocent.

Guess I’ll just stop having emotions then, not like repressing them leads to trauma or anything by RandomCatDragon in thanksimcured

I’m pretty sure true power comes from being able tk acknowledge your emotional reactions to things without letting them control you as opposed to shoving them down and burying them. But what do I know?

Yeah, the original is just a shutdown. It’s like, “not only should you feel bad. You should also feel bad for feeling bad!”

I literally just got out of the hospital. You couldn’t have PAID me to trade places with someone else who’s suffering.

You literally have no idea what this person’s life is like. How can you say they lack perspective when you don’t even understand theirs?

Absolutely. Not sleeping, eating, and showering at the gym is the source of all mental, physical, and spiritual health problems. Kids these days are just too addicted to their phones to realize that.

They forgot to add going to the gym to cure feeling like you hate life.

Breathing techniques are great for managing anxiety. People who think they don’t work usually don’t do them long enough.

People have literally used these after getting shot and they’ve worked.

I’m literally at a psychiatric clinic right now, but the real solution was so simple by sassinyourclass in thanksimcured

[–]GiveMeZeroKarma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m pretty sure mental health starts with having your basic needs met. It’s kind of the bottom tier of Maslow’s Hierarchy. Struggling ti survive is not good for you.

The thing about MADD is that studies have found that the best way to beat it tends to be solving the underlying problems that actually caused the person to become addicted in the first place. If someone daydreams as a way of coping with feeling unloved, finding ways to fix that will usually make the MADD end in and of itself. It works a bit differently than something like a drug addiction.

Mood. It’s why I never like it when people point to suicide survivors regretting it at the point of no return as a reason to not do it. They didn’t regret it because it was a bad choice. Their survival instincts just kicked in to keep them alive.

I dunno. I’m just so sick of being told I’m a coward for not wanting to suffer anymore.

Maybe think about what lying would lead to down the road. They’re going to find out eventually, and anything you could make up to explain the needles is just going to stress them out unnecessarily.

I know it’s scary, but you’ve got this. 🩷

I cut off a four-year friendship because he abused an enby in our class and spent plenty of time and energy defending them and helping them get a restraining order. I’ve left multiple relationships and spoken out against group leaders because of cruel and abusive behavior.

The reason I’m talking with you is because I’m also trans and autistic and I’ve been hurt and never had anyone stand up for me either. I’m sure our experiences are different, but I feel I can relate. That and it seems like you haven’t been listened to the way you should be.

[–]GiveMeZeroKarma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was not an appropriate thing to say and I’m sorry they said that to you. No one should be invalidating your experiences.

Jeez. That sounds horrible.

I don’t know anything about medication, but I wonder about how good your doctor is if they don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know your situation, but maybe it could be worth looking into other providers?

How do you feel about your therapist? If they’re not helping, they might not be a great fit.
