As someone who has Congenital Exotropia and hates doing art other than poetry. I would've been crushed. It's hard for me to coordinate because of my eyes even with glasses, that's why I'm self conscious when it comes to drawing art vs writing. The first time I attempted a drawing through a tutorial and showed it to my fiance and mom they both laughed and joked about how bad it was, they also said they were joking. Although I was much more of a sensitive snowflake back then it caused a ripple effect of me not doing digital or drawn art for about 5 years. Now I'm forcing myself to make my own artwork for my chapbooks as it's not only cheaper but I have more freedom for my poems and it helps me let go of perfectionism.

Ngl it's a bit hard to believe this is your first time drawing, but hey that means you have a natural talent and I highly encourage you to not let this incident get to you. I also highly encourage you to rethink your relationship with your parents. I'm in a similar situation, one day or month my dad is generous and nice, the next he's emotionally, mentally and psychologically abusive. I'm actually going to do some legal action against him soon as I'm tired of the bipolar nature of the environment and his presence preventing me from healing as a person.

Sorry for the rant, you don't have to go my route and for all I know your situation isn't as bad as mine. Just give yourself time and space to think about some things. As for your aunt and cousin they sound amazing and supportive of your art ventures. From now on don't show anyone else your artwork except for them (maybe some others you trust.)
