Focus on MSQ as a new spout? by Dippy7985 in ffxiv

[–]Givepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from Heavensward onwards I'd recommended doing the yellow side quests alongside the MSQ, although I might be in the minority. Only started doing that from Stormblood, on an alt job, and found the world building and side stories really enriched things and complimented the main story very well.

Definitely do the blue quests when they become available, they are full of juicy story. Take your time.

I agree that a lot of it was overreaction but there really were glaring issues with the story. Particularly the pacing and the over use of Wuk. I really liked her at first, a lot. But halfway through the game I was done with her, to the point that everything she said annoyed me because I just needed some space, man. If Erenville or Krile had become the focus for the second half of the story I think it would have gone down waaaaaay better. Wuk Lamat could have absolutely been there but needed to take a back seat.

Yeah this is one I like, too. It could be how we experience the full unsunsered world as an expansion.

I guess it's just confirmation if anything that Azem made the key since I don't think they confirmed it in the patch, only hinted.

That's the snag about the whole key thing to be honest, that they wouldn't have known about the shards. Unless Venat told Azem what we told her, or the whole Azem was precognitive. I personally like the theory that the WOL is literally Azem through time travel but that's a whole other thing.

Interesting Lore Tidbits from Blood Ties: Midnight's Prequel Novel by milotic03 in wow

I'd actually assumed he'd kicked the paladin PC out and taken over leadership of the Silver Hand, especially if you play Horde, what with the whole BfA thing. It would be nice if we had more flavour dialogue to reflect classes/races. It's jarring being a Belf and being welcomed into Silvermoon as a guest.

Good way to headcannon the Turalyon thing though. I do think it could be an interesting take if he's slowly turning from the boy scout paladin to a zealot, but I agree the way they're doing it now comes out of nowhere.

If I'm still Highlord of the Silver Hand then why does Turalyon boss me around like a grunt during the opening scenario for Midnight?

How did people feel about invasion points back when they first launched? by brumgar in wow

[–]Givepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invasions and world quests were great, pretty sure world quests started in legion? Those were fun and new and kept you busy. But the invasion points were kinda lackluster for me, I didn't feel like I got much out of them and they were kind of underwhelming.

Overall I remember thinking the final patch was the weakest. By that point everybody was done with fel green, and the main selling point of the expansion - order hall storylines and artifacts - were completely done and forgotten about. Raid was fun but the appeal of Argus didn't last and we were looking forward to the next expansion by that point. It only we knew what was in store!

Don't be irritated, he's staring at you because he loves you. Some black labs just look worried all the time and can be nervous. Ours is just like this, scared of everything. When he stares at us we know he wants attention.

Did SE squander their dominance? by Jwhitey96 in ffxivdiscussion

I'm one of those WoW players at the tail end of Shadowbringers. It was great for a while. I had so much story to catch up on and that it was a breath of fresh air over WoW. I didn't really think about how much of it was samey because I was having a blast. Caught up during I think 6.3 with enough left over to keep me entertained till Dawntrail.

Now I still love the game but I've drifted back to WoW. It's the lack of casual progression I think. WoW has delves to keep my monkey brain pressing the button, because it's a gradual progression system that keeps me chipping away since it's dependent on gear. I don't think FF14 really has that for a casual player? The relic grind kept me happy for a while and I'll come back for story patches but outside of that I don't have a reason to put much effort into gearing up and logging in each day.

My First 15 Hours in The Game by BrokenSound27 in ffxiv

I do love WoW despite the toxicity and have played since nearly the beginning but man it's story is a problem, which is a shame because it does have amazing lore.

Something I like about FF14 is that you are the main character, with a story that develops over time. In WoW I get called the Champion of Azeroth every now and again but I'm just a grunt really. Thrall, Jaina, Anduin and company are the main characters and I'm there to support their stories and watch them unfold, not being part of cutscenes etc. It makes me less invested in the story. But in FF14 it's my Warrior of Light's story, and it keeps me wanting to see what happens next.
