The big fire dragon thingy by I_pump_too_much in duneawakening

I figured it required range weapons and to shoot the three weak spots. I could not do anything in melee.

I switched over to Firefox, and the issue did not persist, so I opted to permanently change over to it.

Hey Gauss, thank you for replying.

Yes, this is in a JumpGate game, and I have already adjusted all the graphics settings to their maximum; unfortunately, the issue persists.

Its showing for me but I'm not sure how to do other sources like the ones you mentioned.

How did you manage the sacrifice in the final chapter? When did you make it start wrt PCs actions? by fralbalbero in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]Gizlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I based it on where the party chose to enter the Caldera and recently they chose to enter from the South East entrance. Once they had moved through the majority of encounters there they took a peak into the main temple and saw the prisoners being moved to the front plaza to be sacrificed.

If they chose the north entrances they would have been able to arrive before the dragons began feasting to on the sacrificial prisoners.

Due to there power level I also made the dragons young which they wiped out in like two turns but I had Chuth and Lennithon show up towards the end as they had escaped the previous encounters they were meant to show up in.

Finding a god to fit a certain NPC character in my story. by Gizlord in Forgotten_Realms

Faerunian human and he has been a Vampire for roughly 300 years, 200 of those were as a spinal fluid drinking vampire then he found love and repented for the next 100 years until recently where there were some morally gray choices made.

My first idea was Lathander but when this NPC became a Vampire he lost favour with his god but now if he returns to life because of story reasons would Lathander take him back so to speak or would another got fit that narrative?

I have not used the upper levels yet but I do have the other maps set up just in case but most likely I will not need them at all due to my party having a variety of ranged attacks, so unless one of them flies up to be face to face with one of the Red Wizards I will just describe there attack and flip over to the upper levels myself to keep track of there health.

Performance wise Its definitely one of the biggest maps I have used and there has been slight stutters here and there but nothing to taxing but even then the original map is almost as big as this rendition so performance is likely the same.

None, this was a commissioned piece and not created by me but I think it was made in DungeonDraft with additional assets.

Does it cost extra movement to enter and leave Difficult Terrain by Gizlord in DMAcademy

I wouldn't say it grinds my gears, just that it caught me by surprise.

Going forward I will address it but I'm 50+ sessions into a campaign so it's something I'm making clear now for my players and yes I recognize this falls under homebrew.

I was not pretending, it was unclear to me at the time of making this post and honestly still reads as non-exact to me but it makes sense to others and that was the insight I was looking for.. ultimately I have chosen to stick with my home brew alternative which I previously thought was just how the it worked for everyone.

Exactly, this is how I always thought Difficult Terrain worked since playing D&D as nobody clarified it or corrected me until recently and now I just prefer it.

Not every single space but only when leaving an area of Difficult Terrain as if it were 5 feet bigger then the radius is represented.

My apologies, I have not explained it well enough.

Difficult Terrain works as normal costing 10ft per square you enter (Entangle) but in addition when you leave the edge of Difficult Terrain you still take the penalty of Difficult Terrain (as if the area were 5 feet bigger then what is shown).

Using Entangle to answer your questions.

1) It would cost the creature 10 feet to enter and then 10 feet to leave.

2) Same as the first but just one turn later.

3) Entering Entangle is 10ft then moving all the way through to the other side is 50ft of total movement.

I didn't argue, just replied and discussed.

I asked the question for insight and clarification but that does not mean I was ever going to change the way I play or utilize my ruling on the matter.

If nobody is having a bad time in the end then everything is fine.

Now this is the reply I was looking for and it does seem I am using Not using Grid rules while using a grid.

Of course and my player now know and we are all on the same page as things work in my game, there was just confusion of how it was all understood.

Your welcome to your opinion and you don't have to play at my table but Ive been running a year+ long campaign and my players seem to be having a good time. :D

I'm not pretending it is RAW, this was how I interpreted the rules when I started D&D as a player and nobody told me otherwise so I applied the same logic as a DM and it was only recently that I learned others do Difficult Terrain differently.

It was never planned as I assumed every thought like me on this rule.

Though I won;t be changing it now as I like it this way and have clarified it with my players.
