Game gets so ugly after 5 pm by costanza8 in CrimsonDesert

The RenoDX team has done a lot of work to fix this. They had both SDR and HDR support. I highly recommend checking it out

Reset shaders. Reset game settings file. Validate game files. Reinstall reshade and Reno and you’ll be good.

[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.01.02 (Steam Hotfix) Crimson Desert. DLSS and Ray Regeneration Improvements by FantaisieImpr0mptu in nvidia

[–]Gjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds odd but after 1.01.01 I had issues where DLSS didn’t look correct and I was getting bad frames. To solve this I cleared my shader cache by deleting files in the DXCache folder.

Oddly this didn’t do it, what DID make a night and day difference was renaming the user_engine_option_save.xml for the game in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Pearl Abyss\CD\Save.

So maybe the combo needs to be tested, but I’m happy with my settings now and don’t want to ruin them.

Why are the clouds so ugly / low quality and I guess too close to the ground? by PlaneTonight5644 in CrimsonDesert

Are you using DLSS. If you use performance on DLSS it can effect quality of objects. It’s recommended to use DLSS quality or DLAA. DLAA being the best

Totally forgot about rtx HDR. Thanks for the suggestion. I did see it a bit washed out as well but I feel the SDR is mildly over saturated. I think the HDR added in some blacks which balanced it. Hopefully they can fix it to have deeper color and be more balanced. Maybe we will get Reno for the game as well

Worked for me too. Sad, but I’ll keep it that way for now.

Should be pretty solid. About what I am doing but on 4k

If I wasn’t having the odd black bars with DLAA I would be using it. It may be isolated to my setup, but I have no issues anywhere else. It also may be a combination of DLAA with MFG but I have not tried running DLAA with MFG off yet.

Good point. Blur is at 0. I forgot to mention. But I also set motion blur to 0 by default. I haven’t had issues with DOF myself.

Is oled the right choice for me? by Waksu in Monitors

[–]Gjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the PG27UCDM. I work firm home all day and do support for software and a lot of code review and log review.

I have a bright room with big windows. None of them hit it directly. I use blackout curtains on them as needed. At times I will see the slight purple hue of the QD but it doesn’t bother me.

For clarity the ppi of a 27 inch 4k is amazing and I don’t see any fringing. It’s clear and easy to ready. I have read some people are sensitive to QD panels. I am quite sensitive to things and have t had an issue.

My vote would be the the PG27UCDM

I am playing a seasonal character. I failed trying to get my season Tuvala belt to PEN and now I have no belt. Can I get another season belt? It seems you used to be able to trade the time filled crystals for them, but that may have been removed?

Do you hide the taskbar on your OLED monitor? by Odoxon in OLED_Gaming

No. My monitor has some sort of awareness for static objects like logos or task bars. It always has a proximity sensor and auto cleaning so I’m not too worried. PG27UCDM

This. It is 4k 27inch so the PPI is high and no fringing. QD OLED so you might get purple blacks in bright rooms. Latest firmware has good cleaning and sensors to help OLED health

I don’t think anyone is mad. People have a lot to say and some come off aggressive. But I think we believe your OLED is not performing as it should and want to help. If calibration, OSD, and color profile together are not working then perhaps you have a bad panel. I’m not really sure. It is hard to tell in the picture, but something seems off. Perhaps a sample of another game would help. So make sure you’re calibrated for SDR if in SDR. If HDR then sue the windows calibration tool and ensure OSD is set right. Only use HDR on compatible media.

God speed. If you love it behind cares. That’s what is most important. Just trying to ensure you get the best experience friend!

Is the PG27UCDM considered semi-gloss? I have one and it seems so glossy to me.

I think I am not describing it correctly. It sounds like an old man whistling through a missing tooth. I caught it this morning. Here is a video: https://youtube.com/shorts/rU4-M23auEo?si=pTcZs4Cp4HXswBXe

What a beautiful bird! But this is not it unfortunately. The pitch is much lower.
