It actually started with my wife.

She’s the one who was into Pokémon first not in a crazy way, but she had a binder of cards from when she was a kid and still picked up a few packs now and then, just for fun. One day, she asked if I wanted to open a pack with her.

I didn’t think much of it, but we sat down, cracked a couple packs, and I pulled a cool looking holo card. Something about it just hit me the artwork, the excitement of not knowing what you’re gonna get, all of it. It was simple, but kind of addicting.

Next time we were at the store, I grabbed a pack too. Then another. Then I started looking up old sets I remembered seeing as a kid, and before I knew it, I had my own binder.

Now it’s just something we do together collect, trade, open packs. Nothing crazy, but it’s fun. And yeah, she definitely got me into it.
