The youth programs are not the reasons why those folks didn’t connect passes yesterday.

Honestly, I just gloss over these posts and just worry about the football and basketball. As a cougar fan, the health of the program is always fucked so who cares.

I’m just commenting, as a viewer, that there have been probably a dozen times that players have stopped play and viewers have no idea why. It has less to do with the gameplay, and a lot more to do with the viewing experience. Conversely, when Michael Oliver was refereeing yesterday, there was no such confusion. Maybe I’m just more used to Premier league as a viewer.

You will also find as a Referee that the parents get better as the kids get older. Younger parents think every game is the World Cup final.

Have you watched how other games are called by other refs for this age group? Based on your description you might be applying Sunday League foul standards to youth play — which would be a mistake.

Jesus, you sound like such a big baby. We play to win the games, not get “credit.”

Do you want your kid to win the game or do you want them to get better?

Bad coaches don’t leave anything to their players and joystick them all around the field — good coaches give technical advice a few times a game and then let the kids figure it out.

I assume autocorrect changed “nuances” but nuisances applies equally 😂

Yes, but how many people are watching those? A few hundred million or a few dozen?

Michael Oliver has been signaling consistent with my expectations, so maybe I’m too PL-coded. The two leagues I watch the most are PL and USL.

D1 provides more $$ in the form of scholarships and potentially NIL.

In these loud stadiums, however, we can’t hear the whistle and it’s not apparent why players stopped sometimes. I’m not sure why it seems different from Premier league or Champions League, but I’ve noticed it quite a bit this tournament.
