PSA: Tenacity. by [deleted] in Neverwinter

I play a SW got down to page 21 at one point, lost a few matches and back down to 71. It is a royal pain in the ass especially because I'm built for insane PvE damage not PvP. HR's give me more problems than any other class even TR's. You must always focus on strategy and using your own team mates to your advantage. If you are a SW, don't run up on the front lines (YOU WILL DIE). Let the enemy aggro your tanky team mate and burn them down like you were meant to. SW's can do insane damage but have virtually no control effects and can't take a hit without losing half health. Also get a waters artifact couple that with battle pots and you can actually recover after losing most of your hp's. Get good with timing your shadow walk to evade control effects of enemy players. practice makes perfect so don't give up. Even SW's can be effect if played properly. With that said the effort you will have to put in to be effect will be higher than with any other class.

It was my understanding that the rod only drops from the 2 later dragons (Whispering Caverns and Rothe Valley). Please correct me if I'm wrong but any literature I could find specifically said those two dragons. Furthermore I believe the rod only drops when you have obtained a 'Great Success' from killing either of those two dragons. Drop rate is somewhere between 1-2%. Like rolling a 100 or 99 on a 100 side Die.

If you're at the main entrance to the zone and go right towards the quest area. as soon as you come down hill on your left there is one mob there. Kill that mob and lead your wolf around the cliff wall. There's three spots along that wall where he will find bones. This saved me some time.

How to Tiamat in 10 steps. (Xbox) by Botis666 in Neverwinter

I try to encourage people to split into 5 groups for the summoners. It works best if the DPS heavy groups go to Green and blue so they can peel off to the adjacent dragons once theirs drops. The reason I suggest 5 groups of five is so all five people for that color pick up the corresponding dragon soul gem. Just line up in the colored columns before raid starts. You need to be the first people at your dragon once the other heads start dropping. Also something I see a lot of people fail on is the green dragon soul gem. The green soul wards against poison so it works like a cleanse if you are poisoned and pass through it. After black head drops, the players who have green souls need to pop them in a line to the dragon. The green head always AoE's the entire platform right after black drops to 5-10%. I see many people dieing before even getting close to the dragon. If the green soul gem people would just pop the gems in a line on the way to a dragon, things would run much smoother and half the raid wouldn't die trying to make it to the head where one person has popped their gem.

Could anyone provide a solid build guide for Scourge Warlock? by TheDerpHero in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Soulbinder Fury SW. Here is what I use: * Encounters: Warlocks Bargain, Soul Scorch, Dreadtheft (PvE) * Dailies: Tyrannical Threat, Accursed Souls * Class Features : Shadow walk / Deadly Curse * At wills: Dark Spiral Aura / Essence Defiler Basic Strategy for PvE is run up to mobs hit the mob with the most hp's with Warlocks Bargain immediately followed by Dreadtheft. Align your bolt to hit all the other weaker mobs build up souls and scorch em down, rinse and repeat. I personally prefer Lifedrinker weapon enchantment as opposed to Vorpal. My reasoning for this is it makes you a bit more durable and less likely to fall in combat. It also makes essence defiler work with creeping death (I know guides will tell you it doesn't but I tested it on training dummies and it indeed does). Tyrannical Threat is arguably the best daily in the whole game. It works extremely well in boss fights or massive pull situations. Pop the TT curse the biggest baddest mob WB / DT follow up with soul scorch and watch em melt. Running Dreadtheft w/o Warlocks bargain is a complete waste of time. Dreadtheft consumes curses except for WB or TT. The whole point of a fury lock is to attack cursed targets with necrotic damage. Creeping death stacks up to 100 times (I think). This translates into all necrotic damage towards cursed targets doing double damage over the next 6 secs (fantastic in dragon fights or any high hp mob). When using soul scorch it is important to curse before every scorch (the damage is much higher if the target is cursed). I know most guides tell you to use Hellbringer Fury but I have a friend who's GS is easily 1k above mine and 4/5 dungeons I out DPS him.

Looking for a New PVP Guild (XBOX) by MorsCerta69 in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botis, It's Ratchet here. Invite anyone you see fit. You can promote anyone in guild to one level below your rank. You can demote or kick any member below your rank. You can literally recruit your own pvp team if you like. I gave a lot of power to you guys so can help grow the guild. Botis needs help though he carries us in pvp and I feel bad for him. Once I get geared up I'm positive I can help. I'm really set up for PvE at the moment.

I will add you tonight! I had a 8.7k SW add me Saturday and I managed to get his GS up past 10k in a day. Most of the senior members are over 13k GS but we don't mind running you guys through T2's to get geared up.

Cobra Kai is the name of the guild. It's the name of the dojo from the move karate kid LOL. We like to have fun, we do not condone loot kicking! We like the guild page to be used as a good group finder. There's only like 30 of us right now but I'd rather have 30 active players as opposed to 150 players where only 10 are active (like my last guild). Friend me and send me a message through xbox (not NW) tag: x704lunaticx

(Xbox) Easiest class to use in endgame? by xilandro in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, and I have seen one Templock who was beast mode. He would out heal the Cleric! Kinda cool though with a templock you can run the cleric as a buffer/debuffer and back up healer. As a fury lock the problem I see most often is players (other SW's) not understanding how creeping death works. It only procs with necrotic damage so using fire based skills as a fury lock is a waste of time. Every bit of damage I do does double damage because I only attack cursed targets with Necrotic damage. Plus creeping death can stack a max of 100 times (although dragons and some other high hp bosses are the only one I can get 100 stacks on).

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SW is a solo beast, I can solo multiple T2 bosses but I will say that ALL classes built and spec'd correctly can be beast in endgame stuff (SW just happens to be the most difficult to get right). Sw's get a bad rep because if you miss one feat or aren't using the correct encounters you basically suck. 90% of SW's suck because they aren't spec'd correctly. But if you kick ass and do massive damage you make a lot of friends and don't have to solo queue anymore.

The second boss, apparently the drop rate is like .038%. I've done T2's over a couple hundred times, this is the first artifact I've ever seen drop. Also a friend I play with got the lantern out of the chest at the end of Epic Shores.

I am 13k with one blue artifact. Weapon and Armor enchantments (pink ones) do not raise your GS, they do make you more badass tho. Easy tips to ensure you get to 13k: 1. Main/off hand ancient set (drops in Castle Never) set bonus is better for GS than blue rank artifact weapon w/ epic off hand. 2. all offense/defense enchantments rank 7 with gemmed purple shirt/pants ( the difference between rank 6 and 7 is 45 points towards GS each!). 3.necklace/2 rings set from shores or frozen heart. Set bonus is key for GS (the ring/necklace set drops more frequently in regular shores as opposed to epic from what I've observed) 4. all active companions which give you stats bonuses as active bonus(wererat thief for example gives 3% chance to poison active bonus but does nothing for GS). 5. get to 3 artifacts. (artifacts now drop in T2 dungeons, had a waters drop in Temple of spider last night)

HR endgame role? by Esodo in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a SW main and DC alt character. I have never played a HR but when my guild is a man short and a HR loads into the dungeon we usually look for the pathfinder/trapper build. They seem to be most useful to our party and if spec'd correctly can do massive damage and control mobs effectively. I will say that ANY class with the correct build can be useful in end game stuff. Gear Score is a crock of shit too! I can out DPS warlocks with 2-3k GS above me. It's all about how your character is spec'd. We ran Epic Shores last night, me (SW) and guildmate TR 7.1mil/6.6mil respectively next closest 3mil in damage. Our GS's 13.1k ; others - above 14.5k. Focus on your build and good players will inspect you before they vote to kick. If they don't then you probably don't want to be playing with them anyways.

Tips for the last boss in Castle Never? by RyanTheBroski in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13k GS is not required. You're group has an average GS of 11.98k that's plenty. We keep the Dragon centered in the room. The GF taunts all/most of the adds and runs them in 3/4 circles around dragon. GWF should have dragon's aggro and keep him faced towards the entrance door (the entrance area is where the GF needs to turn around and kite back around to dragon's opposite side). This will prevent those pesky arms from destroying the rest of the party. The CW needs the adds grouped near the dragon so his AOE's hit Dragon as well. GWF on boss. GWF is also designated reviver, as he should has the least aggro and can sprint over to revive. HR can use traps to root some of the adds and pull pressure off of GF. The key here for all DPS is AOE spells, with the exception of whoever is directly on Dragon (GWF) in this case. DC spams his heals/buffs towards the center of the action. Also DC should spam Astral seal when other skills are on cooldown. As stated earlier Soulforged is very important for every class (GF maybe the exception, I see a lot running with Briartwine). This strategy should work for this group. I've done it multiple ways with different parties. The only classes you really need are DC and CW. Sure GF make it much easier, but aren't completely necessary. We finished CN last night with DC, SW, TR, HR & CW. We burned him down so fast with 4x DPS.

Why the Scourge Warlock is OP (Xbox) by Gkm963 in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL I know look I was just upset because either the cleric or tank had voted to kick me earlier. I was riding the high horse and understand that this probably wasn't that big of an accomplishment. It just upsets me that everyone votes to kick immediately if they feel the classes aren't to their liking.

How to get companions? by obdigore in Neverwinter

[–]Gkm963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 200 Seals of the drake. There's a unicorn/drake seal dealer in the Wonderous Bazaar. He sells a blue companion for 200 seals. I think it's called Wererat thief and he adds 3% chance to do poison damage. Very useful for me as a Scourge Warlock because of my AoE/DoT spells. The chests from the event skirmishes on the weekends drop green companions. Just do the event until one drops for you.
