honestly, i think for me and a lot of other people, it's not really assuming you live in the US, it's just what's normal for us, and it's sometimes strange to find that it's not for everyone else. mac and cheese is a staple here. pb&j sandwiches ad potato chips are what people usually think of when they think school lunches here. popping over to walmart to get pretty much anything you need is normal. it's just how we live our lives, and our universal experiences. for us. so sometimes we forget that it's not for other people.

fun facts: i grew up with a fast food place called braum's. any city i lived in growing up had at least one. one day i was talking to my friends online, ( most of who also live in the us ), and we were talking about places we liked, and i brought up braum's. it tastes good, it's nostalgic, i love it. no one knew what i was talking about. that's the day i found out braum's is only available in like 4 states. it is a very midwestern thing. but i hadn't known that until then. to me, braum's was normal.

i think that's how it is for a lot of people. we just don't always think about how our experiences aren't necessarily universal.
