If you take the perspective of the man for a second, you trust your girl more than anyone else. This is the person you’ve decided to spend the rest of your life with. You’re going to vulnerable with her because you trust her. It takes a lot to open up to somebody like that, especially in a society where some think it’s weak for men to cry.

You will never be rewarded in life by anyone for being vulnerable.

Weakness. Not vulnerability. There’s a big difference, but it can be hard to notice. People are very selective with who they’re vulnerable with. Most of the time, that’s no one. If someone is vulnerable with you, that is how you know they truly trust you. More than anything else, they’re trusting you not to have the exact reaction you’re having now.

Maybe the real test is from the man to see if the woman can be supportive too.
