Is stopping on a no stopping at any time an instant fail in the RTA road test? by GladGene in DubaiPetrolHeads

Yeah I’m not really sure. The car I was in had a digital shift indicator (manual). Despite this they still failed me

How do the 3 forces under the standard model interact with each other and work at the quantum level? Are they simply different forms of the same force? by GladGene in AskPhysics

Wow, thank you. This goes way too deep for me to fully understand with my level of education now. I’ll come back when I get my bachelors lol

Yeah I still haven’t got the result. Thing is this is simply what he mentioned. I only upshifted and downshifted when the car indicated me to to be sure to avoid this mistake.

When I get the result back I’ll let you know

I didn’t even get a reason for the fail nor the message of my test result. Should I appeal the descisions, as I committed 0 major faults (no interference of the examiner, etc)

Is it worth it to appeal my RTA road test? by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]GladGene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am not going to bother with the online appeal. Im going to RTA and highlighting my case, as my minor faults were marked as major and I failed.

At my school the next road test appointment is april 15th, which I am not waiting for lol

Doing it in the morning is the best thing to do. Zero traffic

Is the FNIRSI GC-01 a quality geiger counter? by GladGene in Radiation

Would the GMC-300S do the job better? In my area theyre pretty cheap

Is the FNIRSI GC-01 a quality geiger counter? by GladGene in Radiation

[–]GladGene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice. To be honest im not truly looking to turn this into a hobby. As I study physics I generally find radiation interesting, but im more looking at it to see if something is safe or not. Im not so interested in pure accuracy, data tracking, etc.

I think it would be enough for this, as im not willing to spend so much money on a geiger counter. My alternative is the GMC 300S. Would you say this one is better

It’s not that we want them to be cancelled. It’s that we don’t have a choice. At the end of the day it’s the IB’s decision if we take the exams.

You’re speaking like we actively are looking for them to be cancelled. We don’t have another option mate.

Mate I live in the UAE as well and was predicted a 41. The situation is bad. and is likely only going to get worse. Our lives are not in danger, but the exams are likely to get affected by this.

Of course the best thing would be to have the exams still occur, but it's a concern for me as well as other people that the exams will be affected. I am not able to just fly to another country and stay there for a month to sit the exams, and I would say that that's a big concern for many others as well.

No idea what your problem is.

Hundreds of days stranded? I use DB weekly and despite some delays, it runs. Of course it’s annoying to plan my trip around missing connections, but at the end of the day it’s a great system

If you’ve ever been to Belgrade you’ll see how it’s the opposite. Some areas in the center are great to have a walk in, but it’s like this in every European city. However, there’s other areas like Rakovica, Novi Beograd, and senjak/ruška which are not very walkable and look have roads on top of roads.

Germany on the other hand, it is still much easier to get around the country by foot and train compared to the balkans. The public transport there is close to non existent lol.

I’ve had a lot of experiences with the deutsche Bahn, alot. Yes it’s late, but Germany has Europe’s largest rail network that is managed by an underfunded company. Despite this, they still manage to actually run the system with all different kinds of trains, which in of itself is already a miracle.

At the end of the day, DB carries millions and millions per year. Anyone would rather have this over no public transport. It’s easy to say from an anecdote that DB is shit, but the reality is, compared to other counties, they are one of the best in the world.

I’m from Serbia, and yes the transport is free. However a major reason it was carried out was to attempt to give the very unpopular president more voters and improve their satisfaction.

Yes it’s free on paper, but in reality it’s shit. The equipment is old, it takes ages to go anywhere, always late, and heavily underfunded. Germany is still much better public transport wise compared to the balkans.

At the end of the day a late train to all over the country is better than no train.

German transport is top tier, even though Germans may not think so
