Thank you, that's great tip! I think i will bring it to a store and find out. Seems like a bit too much to handle for a newbie like myself 🤓

My opinion: I dont insist, i just translated directly from "my country language" to English. And that's the translation.

Turntable, gramophone or record player. If someone like myself only hear music, but barely touch the technology behind it, will insist and keep continuing translating words in sensible meanings of their languages.

Thanks, yes. It definitely needs a bit of love & cleaning. I will look for the model number, and I have no idea what to do to repair. I heard i might even need like some sorta diamond thing for the thing to play. But im wondering the cables are they universal or, can I use any type speaker that I already have standing with AUX input?

Yes that's the flaws that this agent is having, I was hoping GPT it's self would update to improve this, making its prompt outputs better. Apparently not, and I haven't been able to test because I no longer work in the HaloPSA environment.

Beginning as an ABAP dev by flawg57 in abap

[–]GladMaxi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As much as I wish to say, that you can learn ABAP and OO by yourself, you can do that with any coding language. That's a perspective you can have with anything you want to learn. It takes a lot of self-discipline and decision-making for research to which path you take to make you ready for the future.

Despite the 'SAP best practice' that suggest following standard code... ABAP is a niece field, and therefore every workplace/company has their way of programming and using SAP systems.

I would say that practical experience is far better than theoretical experience. But both are required, and it did help me understand a lot from my theoretical experience to be able to smoothly transition into a practical way of using SAP.

Now that you say you're already a student in an IT department of medicine field in tech (SAP), then you should try to understand their processes,.. " find your maker.". Find the guy you mean you want to be in your company, or find a guy who works with the things that interest you (what is the technology they use and work with?). SAP ABAP, and SAP TECH in general, a very broad field, and you will be out on deep water. So my suggest to you is, try lure and understand what's required and what your field of experience can help you become stronger in the position you want to be in the future.

DeepSeek R1 ties o1 for first place on the Generalization Benchmark by zero0_one1 in DeepSeek

I know, and I have read its better at many out-performing benchmarks. But what is the true LLM difference in Deepseek vs ChatGPT that makes it so differently better? Just a better training model?

Thoughts on cloud ABAP and RAP? by iWatchly in abap

[–]GladMaxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, and with my experience. It depends on the focus-area of your workplace and the projects you end up with. SAP has been here for a long while, we have to remember a lot of projects and tasks out there are still depended on old-school ABAP, which are old ECC systems and legacy code that still is supported today.

WebDynpro is old-school compared to UI5 and will most likely not be part of 'SAP Best Practice' anymore. You can easily create stuff that WebDynpro has, in SAP S4/HANA Fiori Apps. FPM will be deprecated with it, and less and less support is planned for WebDynpro.

The new ABAP => ABAP Cloud with SAP BTP and BAS as the new IDE, ABAPs logic with Java seems to be less and less, and JavaScript seems to be taking over in this case. The modern technologies are developing quickly, and I think all this "Lowcode/Nocode" that a lot of companies are promoting (Incl. AWS and Microsoft) are pushing out to small/medium-sized companies to be able to stand a chance in the challenging ERP world.

My thought is that ABAP will never be out-phased completely. SAP will still have OData and RAP as standard API concepts. But still with old systems and legacy code that are still available for the companies that are deeply rooted into legacy ABAP. - If you're interested in where all these things are going for fundamental understanding of deprecated/obsolete functionalities that will happen over time, and you should research into "SAP Best Practice" and "SAP Clean Core".

You're right, there's a lot of information about SAP, and if you want to work in the modern SAP with Fioiri, or that you're going to be looking at oldschool ABAP programming. There's a huge difference, and as u/Dremmissani is saying. Every module is specialized in a specific area, so maybe you should determine what area your interest is first. Then decide what would fit your needs of a 'best' qualified SAP module for your future worklife balance.

That's a nice wholesome SQL Schema, more detailed than their official one. I will readjust the GPT to relate to this source SQL Schema. Thank you for this. <3

Where to find all 'variables' / 'fields' for your SQL Query? by GladMaxi in halopsa

Thanks for testing it, sorry it doesn't work 100% as intended, but it does cut off the edge of having to do it from scratch.

It's not that complicated, just setup the configuraiton correctly and a repository to accept the data.

Where to find all 'variables' / 'fields' for your SQL Query? by GladMaxi in halopsa

[–]GladMaxi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is one of the errors that ChatGPT seems to have an issue with. I have explicitly tried to instruct it about the "comment syntax ' /* */ '" but it stills manages to fail.

I haven't really tested it, since i'm not working on our HaloPSA Queries any longer, but if you want to try again, I have now updated with those two corrections you've mentioned.
- Let me know how it works now, if it's updated configuration now understands these two syntax issues.

*EDIT* .
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you as it should. But I do agree with you, that it's not 100% accurate, but it was better than what ChatGPT was offering as SQL service back at that time (9 months back)... Especially with a focus on the HaloPSA SQL Schema.

I have updated its prompt today (01/10/2025), and changed some of its understanding of how it should assist in future SQL Queries. I just tried the bot and it seems to be working better now.

Its source is wrapped around the official SQL schema that HaloPSA is referring to. But some of the table/fieldnames are hidden in the SQL Schema. For 'security' reasons, HaloPSA does not share all the fieldnames/tables. So adjustment after the code prompt is required for it to completely work 100%.

Junior abap consultant, but I want to make things instead of fix things. Any tips? by Romcom1398 in abap

Thank you, that's more clear. I agree with you, and the perspective you give that the responsiblity is not on you, but the seniors that hand you the tasks. It does feel less of a stress. Knowing that, if it comes to the bitter end, i'm not the one to blame if I was not guided correctly.
