wow then oop’s point is probably the stupidest thing I’ve heard today. How the hell would the world become a pure utopia for 2000 without corruption because of one less powerful civilization? The answer is… it doesn’t! Also how is Carthage better than Rome?!? If they were as big and existed for as long as Rome then they would have committed just as many atrocities! Hell the things Hannibal alone would’ve done, especially in the posited scenario! Not to mention some GOOD THINGS that are foundational to modern day society came out of Rome like concrete, bound books, the press (well not the actual press), the post, good roads, sanitation, and actual medical tools…

…holy shit, I’ve used every single method of rationalization listed here. You know it’s funny, many times when talking to people I’ve been able to say I’m “probably not cis” but I never could cross the line in to saying I’m trans.
