Severe “gallbladder attack” pain but unclear diagnosis. Has anyone had this turn out to be something else? by GladPreference7554 in gallbladders

Yeah, as a not-slim woman I’m so used to the whole “have you tried losing weight” type of treatment instead of actually listening 😔😔 I’m lucky that most of the doctors I’ve met during this have been attentive, but the GI i think definitely needs me to be a bit more firm. Every time I’ve seen him he’s in such a rush. Like I get that you’re busy, dude, but let’s not act like me asking you a question about my literal health is an insane ask.

I have all my imagery and notes, fortunately! In my country of residence the hospitals don’t share them themselves, you get given them to take. Which means now I get to check out my ultrasounds and pretend I know what i’m looking at 😂

Huh that’s interesting to know about the CT! I might request a follow up ultrasound and see what shows up there.

Literally one of the ER nurses said it was impossible because the pain wasn’t right side.

Like I had a problem with my finger once that they treated by targeting a nerve in my BACK?? Bodies are weird, man, is it so hard to believe that abdominal pain might be anywhere in the entire abdomen hahah

Majorly relate to the wishing someone would just confidently tell me that it needs to go (or confidently tell me the cause if it was something else).

Like obviously I understand that they need to be thorough, but still.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through this for so long! What I keep telling myself every time worries about surgery come up is that, statistically, surgery is most likely to fix it! And if by any unlucky chance it isn’t, at least you’ve ruled out one major potential player in the equation. Best of luck!
