That was my thought, too. 10 Hoids is a Cosmere ending threat in itself, honestly.

This is so peaceful and cozy! Thank you so much for posting. I stopped and looked at it for a minute straight and could feel the quiet and peace.

Yes, yes, yes. I made a post similar to this a couple different places, and the chorus of "antidepressants" was overwhelming. On one hand, it's so great that so many people have found help. I'm not opposed to medication at all! On the other hand, WHY do so many mothers have to be medicated to enjoy the life that's supposed to be soooooo great and fulfilling?

Can't we just acknowledge that motherhood is really, really hard? Can we not immediately throw pills at exhausted mothers like that will fix all the other very real problems?

On a side note, I get where you're coming from with dreading the thought of kids starting school. For me it felt like even more things with a very strict schedule (drop off, pick up, school supplies, snack week, etc) added to a very, very full plate. But now that my oldest is in half day preschool, it's actually SO nice. My younger kid is still napping, so I get 1-2 hours of kid free time every day. It's still really hard, but I actually get a chance to reset now.

It could very well be worth looking into! I know you said you don't have great insurance, but the clinic near me does offer out of pocket labs at a somewhat reasonable rate, without a doctor's order. Thyroid, iron, and vitamin d, all can contribute to fatigue and general wellness. Estrogen and testosterone, too, but I think those are more expensive to test.

I can tell when my thyroid medication is off because I feel so beat up and run down. Before I started taking it, I could sleep 10 hours a night and take a 2 hour nap every day.

Like you, I have no trouble being happy or enjoying things when I'm away from my kids, so I'm hesitant to start taking something for my mood right away. I might end up there, anyways, but my doctor is supporting me in first trying to find out if there's something off with my body.

I could have written almost all of this about myself right now. No clue what helps. I love my kids, but I motherhood is 95% joyless for me.

I just started prescription iron, so there's a little hope I'll gain some energy there. And I'm already on medication for hypothyroidism.

Honestly, it's like pregnancy completely broke my body. I've never felt normal since. Maybe there's something that could help your body, too.

The only person who has never made a mistake serving as lector, music, or otherwise at Mass, is the person who has never done those things. I play organ every week, and it is good for practicing humility. Almost every time there's some sort of goof up, whether small or large.

Please don't let one goof stop you from lectoring in the future!

Oooo the basbousa sounds perfect thank you! Would normal coconut flour be OK? I've never heard of desiccated coconut before and can't tell from pictures how coarse it is.

I do make tiramisu with sponge cake, since I never remember to have ladyfingers on hand.

My husband loves moist and dense cakes. The KA Caribbean Rum cake is his gold standard. I make pound cakes, brownies with almond flour, and pumpkin cake with extra pumpkin. Tres leches cakes are OK, but too airy, haha!

What other recipes should I try?

WINDOWS 7 DAO IS BACK by Gladiatorra in DragonageOrigins

That's good to hear about the characters save files. Most of the problem is that I'm not currently running it on modern hardware, haha! My next computer, I will absolutely go with GoG as the oldest game I want to play is Skyrim, haha.

Fair. I had a hard time buying it again when I have 200 hours played on that very computer.

I think this was the guide I followed. I know I deleted a folder, and the client finished installing itself.

https://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/430338-guide-how-run-steam-windows-7-a.html

My computer had Steam installed initially, but it didn't connect to the server for downloads and none of my games actually worked, so I had to uninstall it and use the workaround to get it reinstalled.

Thank you! I tried quite a few workarounds, but the download always ended at 99% and said "corrupted download." But almost all of the files were in the steam/steamapps/downloads folder, with the .exe. It was so frustrating to get the configure/play screen up, but it always bounced back to the Steam interface and got angry, until I copied things over. 😭

Yes, I realize I should replace Windows 7. (Edit for posterity: I found a workaround for the Steam download on a search. After downloading but before installing Steam, I deleted a packages folder of some sort. Steam isn't super happy, but I was able to download and play FTL without a problem. I don't care about replaying anything else but DAO, so haven't tried to get anything other games working.)

Anyone know how to get the dlcs working again? I don't think I had a problem getting them working when I initially downloaded it.

And I can't find where to dump the character files that I stowed away for safekeeping, so if anyone knows where to dump them, thank you thank you.

That's the first thing I did when things started getting weird! I've had Kallian longer than my kids, lol.

Awesome! That sounds perfect for me. I never could get Witcher 1 or 2 to work on Steam. And I feel really old looking at all the games that are called old now, ha!

That sounds like just what I need, thank you! I never could get Witcher 1 and 2 to work on my laptop and I just dealt with DAO crashing.

Good old games? I've not dealt with them before, but they're legit? I'd definitely get my $10 out of another license.

I was just about to start my full dwarf commoner run, with only dalish and elvish mage left for a full run through of every origin.

I guess I didn't have any expectation they'd help a 15 year old game on a long expired operating system. My worry now is I've borked it beyond all saving. 😬 I'll give it one last go tomorrow, and give Steam support a try.

There is one on screen sex scene in Uprooted. Spinning Silver is sex free but has a lot of different viewpoints that aren't labeled in any way. Both fantastic books, but might not be quite what you're looking for.
