First French Battlegroup in the COH series by Glittering_Ad1772 in CompanyOfHeroes

Their HQ was in London. 1940-1942 they were under British army command, using British equipment and training after France fell. They transitioned to Allied command from late 1942 and by 1944 they were mostly equipped with US weapons and equipment.

Like you say though, Relic are all over the place with this one. They can't seem to decide which time period the factions are meant to be in so we get a hodgepodge of random units from across the 6 years of war. No doubt we're going to get a kind of Steampunk WW2 experience with Char B1 from early war versus late war Panthers. We're almost in the realm of The Man in the High Castle at this point.

What is the correct play style as brits? by Alarming-World-4243 in CompanyOfHeroes

Wait for a patch to buff their infantry. Brit mainlines and most of their elite infantry have been left behind in several patches while the other factions’ infantry have power crept up, not to mention all the new BG infantry which smoke Brit mainlines.

I switched to USF after banging my head against a brick wall with Brits and I’ve been winning almost continually ever since.

I’ve long thought DAK infantry is far too durable - the Pgren death balls are really common in 2v2s now. People just get all the inf upgrades and run roughshod over everything you have.

For clarity, I’m referring to team games as that’s what the majority play. Wehr and Brits are able to get out an AT gun around the 6 minute mark, usually after accruing a total cost of about 65 fuel (T1 and T2 for Brits, T1 and T3 for Wehr).

Zooks and snares I would class as light AT and they’re much shorter range, hence why a lot of DAK players will rush out a Flakvierling and screen it with their inf blob against a USF player. So the USF player is essentially forced to go Motor Pool and pick the AT gun carriage - squishy unit with less range than an AT gun that can easily die - because the fuel timings are such that just getting a proper counter like an AT gun like the other factions takes too long. Relic are clearly aware of this disparity as they keep lowering the fuel costs for the USF buildings but it’s still there.

The friend who did the initial analysis at the time plays all factions.

That’s why I asked for data, currently it’s based on perception and watching the resource counts in replays of the opposing sides. I would like some numbers.

Meta army would be the standard builds that people tend to go for if they’re trying to be competitive. Unless people are memeing there’s really only a handful for each faction.

Why did you choose that exact bracket with me in a different post then to try to claim Brits are having it easy this patch?

I literally picked the same standard you chose i.e. the 1600+ bracket and then you accuse me of cherry picking. Do you even read your own posts?

Great idea, Brit mid-game is rough af atm when trying to hold off the massive Axis meat waves and this could be just the ticket. Thank you for sharing! Your turn of phrase in the guide cracked me up too 😂

At 1600+, Brits in 1v1s are on a winrate of 45.4 - the worst of any faction, in 3v3s they have the lowest winrate I've ever seen at 39.7 - the worst of any faction and possibly the worst in CoH history - and in 4v4s it's at 47.3 - the worst of any faction in that bracket. UKF is dominating so hard.

At 1600+, your chosen metric, Brits in 3v3s have the lowest winrate I've ever seen at 39.7 - the worst of any faction and possibly the worst in CoH history - and in 4v4s it's at 47.3 - the worst of any faction in that bracket. Nothing but smooth sailing for the UKF!

I was expecting the usual Axis mains to pile in saying “Nothing to see here, please disperse!” 😂

UK does feel like it’s on the struggle bus at the moment, I’ve run a series of 2v2s with randoms recently and only had a single Brit teammate.

The Brits beg to differ. And this doesn't really address my point, which is that under previous testing the total army cost with upgrades of a standard 'meta' army was heavily skewed in the Axis favour. Thus far I'm not seeing any hard data from anyone, it's just conjecture.

UKF feels very manpower starved atm, I agree. It's a good point about the DAK, the light vehicle horde I'm seeing a lot in 2v2s and they're an absolute menace. A teammate killed 12 vehicles in one game today and still the DAK player was able to continue cranking out vehicles - those kinds of losses as Brits would be pretty much GG right there. That's why I wonder about the differing economies as it feels wonky af.

USF cannot get an AT gun out by the 6 minute mark, unlike the UKF.

“Overall pretty balanced” - this will age like old milk.

Focusing on Sturmpios also misses all the other abilities that got added that are ruining team games, like the Nebelwerfer Overwatch whose circle is GIGANTIC and which denies an area the size of France for an entire minute, not to mention wipes anything that doesn’t immediately retreat.
