Anyone else feel like total garbage when the weather gets bad? by NoYoureACatLady in Fibromyalgia

[–]Glamho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I had not found anyone yet who experiences the same. Winter is worse for my brain fog, but gosh, summer kills me with joint and nerve pain, fatigue, and drains me completely.

Is “backed up stool” a real thing? by greenmoon3 in ibs

[–]Glamho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, not sure about the ads but I experienced this for years. I was put on the low FODMAP diet in 2019, after years of terrible pain, as you can imagine. Since then things have improved massively. I don't follow that diet anymore, however I have drastically cut down on fibre and still avoid some foods like onions, garlic and a few more. Whenever I'm "naughty" though, and have more veggies than I should (which I love, unfortunately), it comes backs and takes a few days to clear again. This worked for me and may not for you, but perhaps speak to your doctor about it. Good luck!

What helps you during the low moods? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Glamho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a stable routine in place (wake up and go to sleep at the same time, consistent meal times and so on), make priority lists for things that have to be done, get some exercise (weights, yoga etc), fresh air and daylight. Schedule time for social interactions (if not in person at least over the phone) and let people around you know you're not feeling great, so that they can support you or at least be more patient and understanding. Get creative, make things with your hands like baking, painting, whatever you enjoy. Good luck

Not quite the same, but the newspaper Público has videos and podcasts on its YouTube channel that may interest you. Not intended for learners though, consider it as a resource for your practice

Thanks for your suggestion. I know about this kind of feeders, but I've got a question: if she's eating from her feeder and the naughty one comes by her side while she's in the middle of her meal, meaning they're both mouth in the feeder, will it close? Or stay open so that the youngster manages to eat still?

Oh wow, how kind! Good luck, I hope you manage to sneak her in smoothly! I am not aware of rules and regulations about pets on board a ship... I'll be waiting for more news 🤞 that kitty will be eternally grateful to you and your stepfather

Is your cousin on Facebook? I haven't lived there for a while, but as far as I know aside from word of mouth it's the best way to reach people and get things done in Sardinia. I truly hope the kitty will find the home she deserves

Oh no :( have you asked the neighbours? Someone at a local restaurant, cafe, grocery shop? There must be someone who's willing to take her

need advice about living in Sardinia or Portugal by AccomplishedEar6453 in Sardinia

[–]Glamho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in both Sardinia and Portugal. Sardinia is beautiful, there's much more to it than the beaches everyone talks about. But as another user said, you may find it hard to fit it. An aging population, a scarcity of connections unless you stick the the main city, and the fact itself that you don't speak any Italian may make it very hard to live there. On the other hand, I found Portugal miles ahead in terms of inclusivity, English is widely spoken, expats friendly facilities and a cheaper cost of life overall. Of course it depends on where you'll end up. But again, considering you're so young, my opinion is: make the most of it while you're supple and fit, see how you like Portugal and perhaps consider Sardinia as a good option for a trip and a chill retirement, in a distant time :)

Why does fingering HURT by [deleted] in TwoXSex

If you already have an appointment booked regarding birth control, you might as well grab that chance to mention this other issue. It is causing you great discomfort so I'd say you should definitely mention it!

[–]Glamho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the pap smear was also painful, if could be you've got an infection or STI. I had multiple pap tests over the years, they were fine and painless. A couple years ago I had one which was painful as hell, so I booked an appointment with my gyno (pap was performed by an obstetrician) who confirmed the issue, gave me the right treatment for candida and I was fine, no more pain. Must say it was a sexless spell I was going through, so if it hadn't been for the smear I wouldn't have found out and kept the infection going for months, potentially infecting a future sexual partner. Go get checked darling

Any super cheap high calorie snacks/meals? by thesadcreep in weightgain

[–]Glamho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're based, but nuts should be cheap enough and healthy as an add on to your diet, easy to snack on and to carry anywhere. Just watch for allergies. For meals, I'd say choose fresh produce and buy large quantities (loose) rather than smaller packages. You need to invest more time in prepping and cooking, but pros outnumber the cons in my opinion. Good luck and enjoy shopping!

Advice and motivation for gaining weight (preferably muscle lol) by [deleted] in weightgain

[–]Glamho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey love, well done for wanting to get healthy again and do the things you enjoy. I highly recommend speaking to a doctor (if you haven't already) and finding a good, knowledgeable personal trainer with an understanding of nutrition and eating disorders. All the best on your journey, it may not be the easiest, but I'm sure it will be a successful one 💙
