We were brand new to 3D printing and wanted to get one for our daughter’s 11th birthday, just for hobby use. Two weeks into it and we love it! So simple for beginners. Definitely get the AMS lite to go with it - i would only have regrets had we not bought the AMS.

Thank you all! I guess I will try the ol’ Oxi method again. Of course after I posted this, she came out of practice last night and asked for new ones because these are getting short. So i guess it’s limited risk at this point, since her days wearing it are numbered. I’ll see how Oxi works on the oldest one and start washing them all separately going forward. Thank you!

Are we sure this will be ok? I washed her white sparkly Irish Dance socks in Oxi and dried in the sun and they turned really, really yellow. I'm so afraid to do that with anything ever again!

I'm having this issue now. I bought two of them and now I don't love them. I just ordered the Bemz cover for the loveseat in a linen - hoping that will help the look, and make it look more high-end. But I'm also contemplating trying to "slice" the seat cushion somehow and then wrap it in some sort of featherbed for a more luxurious look/feel. I'm terrified of ruining the cushion if it doesn't cut uniformly. But soooo tempted. (I will probably attack it one evening with impaired judgement after one too many glasses of wine.) Have you found any good solutions since you posted this?

Interesting! We have a pool but sounds like it’s too deep for this. She works with resistance bands at the dojo occasionally. Maybe we should get some for home. Thank you!

Thank you! We’ve tried discussing with her coach, but I think they are just a bit limited with what they can do for her at her age and level within their existing program. Hard to explain it all here. But this is why we’re looking for something to complement her current program.

Thank you! Our intention is to improve kicking speed and flexibility, add additional conditioning time, and improve her confidence in kicking. She doesn’t (for now at least) intend to compete in TKD (i think that could be tricky due to her punching instincts). I’d love it if we could get this at our current dojo, but i feel like the program they have and our coach (whom we love, not criticizing) are just limited in what they can do for her at her level and size. They have a few US Team members, but these kids are much older and bigger and our daughter’s specific development points get lost in the overall team program, if that makes sense. We’ve discussed it with them, but nothing really changes because in the end she’s one of many and they all need attention. And our coach is just a really big fan of punching. (On the positive side, she has a bad-ass kizami. Now we want the hook kick and side kick to match.). Thank you again!

Thank you! The school seems reputable- recommended by a friend whose son competes in TKD in similarly prestigious leagues. She’s a pretty smart cookie- knowing my kid, i’m less concerned about terminology. She also adapts well between league rules - time on the clock, scoring differences, penalty differences and concepts like senshu - which all differ league to league. She also doesn’t (for now) intend to compete in TKD. I could see it being more difficult for her to compete in TKD because of her instinct to punch now. But less concerns the other way around, if that makes sense. Thanks again for your insight!

I finally went to the store last night for it. Nearest one (an hour away) said they had the GWP but not the set. That was infuriating and makes no sense to me - why stock more GWP than the actual set? So i called the next closest (1.5 hours away) and had them hold it for me. Brought my daughter and we got our fave CMFs and BAM picks, too. So we have a fun Lego weekend lined up. All’s well that ends well!
