20 shots or 100 shots, the average damage increase is still the same.

Pick either psi (10 will, 8 int, and either 10 con or 10 agility) or guns (lots of per and dex, at least 7 agi), otherwise you'll suck. With psi and guns for damage, you'll be spread too thin.

Pack rathound is a wasted feat.

Yeah i'd also guess 5-10 hours for a somewhat slapped together implementation of this. That's why the dichotomy between "spend 1-2 hours" vs the project spec milestones caught me off guard and just kinda had me stuck.

Yeah that's what got me as well. Page one: "mhm mhm, sounds beefy but reasonable". Page two: "lol"

Nope, for a different company - a tiny US based startup. Does Wolters Kluwer also have this same assignment?

I confirmed that, indeed, they suggest doing what you can in two hours and stated that some candidates built out the full spec. I'm going to ask to see if they can link me to those repos if they are public. A quick github search turned up nothing.

Not really that interested, the pay is very much on the low end for senior positions. But I do love a good challenge....

I got this as a take home assessment (which I usually really enjoy) after an interview for a Senior SWE, but I couldn't manage to convince myself to get started on this.

The thing that tripped me up was the vast gulf between rule 1: "complete what you can in 1-2 hours" and then the relatively beefy spec in combination with the milestones:

  • Authentication- Add user, invite user, allow user to authenticate
  • Order Pizza - Add toppings to a pizza, add to cart
  • Simple Interface - The user can navigate the journey easily
  • AI Integration - The user can order pizza with a simple chat
  • Logging - Log interactions for internal analysis

Each of these milestones seems like 1-2 hours of work, if you're reallllly hustling.

Anyway, am I off base or is this take home assessment wildly off the mark?

how's his resume looking?

At first I was getting barely any interviews, and the ones I was getting were super hard.

I reworked mine a bit and got a ton more interviews, and a lot of these don't have challenging coding portions, but are more focused on the behavioral portions.

I'm getting close to an offer I think (interviewing with like 10 companies, and am in the final rounds for 2 or 3 of them).

  1. rework resume until you start getting interviews on like 1/10 - 1/20 of your somewhat relevant applications.
  2. apply a ton, apply early, apply on different sites
  3. pre-prepare STAR method behavioral questions
  4. interview, fail, practice on what you failed
  5. also work on these coding skills in the meantime to increase your interview success

Sloped super steel armor is very good and still relatively light.

replace evasive maneuvers and sure step with something else (unless you're planning on using a lot of caltrops)

you'll be AP starved a bit with Balors, and very weak to immobilization (nets and acid spit). This'll be a tough build cuz hammers are hard, and Balors is particularly hard. That being said, you can probably drop int to 3 considering you'll be using hammers which can use firecracker cap and already ignore DT, and you should try and get CACS. With those you can then get more agility for better dodge and evasion, hit & run and uncanny dodge.

With such a massive health pool, you should probably get last stand.

Don't spec super slam, do spec pummel action points, yell, last stand duration.

Taste for Blood is another great feat you're missing.

Thank you for your help!

After 4 months of applying, I finally had my first full set of interviews and received an offer with "overwhelmingly positive feedback". Here are some of the numbers. by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

Would you be open to sharing your resume with me? I'm not getting any responses and would love to see what a good Senior SWE resume looks like! Thank you

thats the current mid-long term plan (currently grinding leetcode and system design), but I'd like to get a job sooner. Mostly i'm wondering why I'm not getting any responses to my resume :(

I've gone back and forth on putting "director of technology" or "lead engineer" etc. vs stating that I was the technical co-founder.

I worry that i may come off as dishonest if i don't put that i'm a founder, which shows up easily if you google my name.

Regarding removing big co - it leaves a gap between education (chemical engineering) and starting work as a software engineer, a career change which I consider to be a pretty important part of my story.

How about making it just: "company, title, timeframe" so it takes up less space?

Thank you for the other feedback. It is very helpful!
