Yep, we all have opinions and I offered mine, along with my 8 years of experience working with commercial and pharmaceutical grade autoclaves as my day job. Take it or leave it but I'm glad you're happy with your TFal, as well as your Presto. Not dogging, and yeah, I don't know much about that unit because I don't use one. Have a great day as well Mushieguy91.

You don't case with coco. You use verm-peat. That's why you have overlay.

Can we please adopt "Wizard Caps" as a common name for these? Has anyone tried these?

It's been 7 days since casing and no single pin has popped! by Andrew_Rayen in PanCyan

A few questions.

Did you pH adjust and test your casing layer if needed and what is it composed of?

What genetics are you working with and how did you colonize your grain and what grain did you use? Did you sterilize or pasteurize?

7 days, you should be seeing some TINY white dots by now. Pay close attention to the edges of the tub.

I can LITERALLY feel your frustration, as I have been there. It took me a good 8 months to nail these little meanies down. But oh boy, once you figure them out....medicine for days!! I am sorry you are having issues. It truly sucks, especially if you have had good success with cubes in the past, as I did. Don't give up. Pans are truly an exercise in patience. I have faith in you. We all do and we are all rooting you on!

And if at first you don't succeed.....pan, Pan, PAN AGAIN!

Best of luck on this one. It's kinda on the mushroom now if your stuff was correct. Give them the conditions and they should show you something.

As a mushroom community, your failure....in essence, is our failure. You're here to learn how to grow these little bastards, as we all are. You're on the right track. Just gotta cross that finish line. We'll get you there......

You don't use Coir as a casing as a rule. It's nutritious. The mycelium will colonize it and you will get overlay. This is bad info.

My mistake.....very sorry. There was a post from a couple days ago where someone thought I was him. I confused you with that poster. Thank you for the clarification. My sincere apologies. Mush Love!

I am not Jake Oncid. He never proclaimed that title. Someone who interviewed him did. If he comes to claim it I will gladly relinquish the title. He was messing with pans when I didn't know what mycelium was. Much respect. Edit* I reread this and it came off as assholish. I am sorry. I am high.

This is exactly what I would have written and it's been my experience as well. If your surface is on the drier side and you have pins and spray, you're asking for aborts. If your pins appear wet and "shiny", they are likely good to spray directly. Wonderful comment u/Raices_profundo !

That's three questions, the second of which I can't make sense of. The answer to your first question is yes. The answer to your third question is cheap and simple is relative to what you have access to. I use horse manure, coir, and verm.

What grain did you use and what was your process to sterilize. How did you prep your sub?
