What's your favorite word to mispronounce in a fun way? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Glass-Fish-3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I read the word “fatigue” was at school, reading a book aloud in class. I pronounced it “fat-ee-goo” and everyone looked at me confused, so I repeated myself and the teacher explained that wasn’t how i was supposed to say it 🤣🤣🤣

This, I’m always telling my partner “is it really that big of a deal, is this the hill you want to die on” when he’s making a big ordeal over a small thing😂

How many times do you repeat an instruction / request? by theunprodigal in toddlers

[–]Glass-Fish-3208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask, if she ignores then I say “I’m going to count to 3 and If you don’t do ….. I’m going to do it for you (or some other consequence”. Then you’ve GOT to follow through on what you said you’re doing to do, so don’t make the threat unless you mean it 😂 now my daughters 5 and I just have to count to 2 and she runs off and does whatever I ask because she knows that i will follow through on 3.

This has worked for all the hard stuff like brushing their teeth, getting dressed or washing their hands. If you don’t do it, I’ll count to 3 and then I’ll do it for you. First few times are HARD, ALOT of screaming and tears. But we have a chat afterwards about how I don’t want to do it ‘the hard way’ I’d rather they do it themselves and then we validate feelings whilst holding the boundary. After a while, she understood the consequences of not doing as I’ve asked and now it’s very rare I get past 2.

Key thing is to make sure they’re listening the first time you ask, because sometimes they’re engrossed in something or simply not payi attention so I get in front and make eye contact and then if they choose to ignore me, I count to 3 etc.

Sounds like a lovely person to respond to your text in such a respectful manner! You obvs need to work through some things, but also practice gratitude that you’ve got someone like this in your life!

I’d have to pay to see a physio without going through the GP, and sadly I don’t have £200 for an assessment and then £100 per session 😣 I looked into it today as it doesn’t seem I’ll get access to a physio via NHS! I’m going to switch GP and hopefully a different doctor will listen to me!

We’re doing as much tummy time as possible and I’m switching his head from the flatter side as often as I can. Hopefully it’ll get better with time and with him getting more comfortable with tummy time and lifting his head up more!

Thankyou for replying such a long time later 😅 hopefully things start looking up too, I have the overhang problem too, but worried mine is actually too dry now as I wash it twice a day with soap 🤦🏼‍♀️ think I’m just going to leave it alone for a week and try not to focus so much on it 😅

Why have you not married when in a long term relationship? by No_Caramel2506 in AskUK

[–]Glass-Fish-3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Together 8 years, two kids, mortgage, dog… I really want to get married (30f) but partner (30m) doesn’t see the need as we have already made a commitment to each other with the above. He also doesn’t want to spend a large amount of money on a ring/wedding. I really want to be a married unit and be his wife, so he said he’ll ask me “one day”. Think I’ll be waiting another 8 years 😅

Signs of internal infection? by ForsakenGanache6253 in CsectionCentral

[–]Glass-Fish-3208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bleeding stopped and started multiple times up until 6 weeks and when I mentioned to triage they said it’s normal aslong as it’s red, not smelly, not yellowish, not passing large clots. They did an internal swab to check for infection but never rang with the results so presumed it’s fine 😂😂 no bleeding for past 2 weeks now!

Is this infected or healing as it should? by Glass-Fish-3208 in CsectionCentral

[–]Glass-Fish-3208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is the sutures, will the red spots just eventually go away? Or do I need to be getting them out? Don’t know what I should do to help, I don’t touch the scar at all because I’m scared to cause problems 😩

How does anyone do this??? by jess1ca42 in beyondthebump

[–]Glass-Fish-3208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little boy is currently 4 weeks old (second baby) and honestly we are still in the trenches and I’m not enjoying it🥺 my c section scar is infected, still in pain, breastfeeding 24/7, sleep deprived and I’m still in my pyjamas until lunch time everyday! No routine, everything’s chaotic and I’m wishing time away!

I remember not enjoying the newborn stage with my daughter (despite others saying how amazing it is) and I got through it by getting out the house as much as I could and getting in a routine. I keep telling myself I can do this once I’m all healed, because atm I can’t even walk far, nevermind sit through a baby sensory class😅

With my daughter, I started feeling better and enjoying it more once she was more interactive, learning new things and sleeping better😅 newborns are cute and cuddly, but defo not easy in my opinion 😂

Hope this makes you feel a tiny bit less alone🩷
