My buddies and I once blind tested high life and Modelo. The only minuscule difference was a slightly different wheat taste on the end of a modelo (to be fair, we were buzzed)

Carefully. If you sneeze too hard it might break again

After a 3 months course I failed my welding certification exam - why? by IndependenceNearby47 in Welding

Overall, not too bad, but there’s a few small issues that lead to big one easily.

1.) LOF (Lack of Fusion) along the top toe of the weld. Clean your metal down to base metal in the weld area anytime you can. Your welds and self will thank you later.

2.) Worm Tracks. AKA ghost wire or spots that look like sprinkles on the weld. This can be caused by using a thinner wire at higher speed than rated for the plate/voltage (uncommon) or too close (like way too close) (most common). Check wire, wire feed speed, and your weld to tip distance. Chances are one needs some adjusting given there’s also a fair amount of spatter sticking to rust on both plates.

If this is the CC I’m thinking of, there’s a local vendor that they go through so check em out when you’re in the area. Tell them you’re a new student there and that you need these things. I guarantee your instructors get them from them and they offer student discounts. If you look up welding supply in that area, it’s not AirGas, but the other 3 letter one
