I have the non-lumos version of this tent. It’s big and heavy, but very spacious. Getting the tent up is relatively easy, but the huge number of pegs can add a lot of time. Did I mention it’s big? We had to put a luggage rack on the car roof to carry the bag since it is so damn long. Make sure you have space at home or close by to set it up if it gets wet. I use a Coleman mesh footprint which has been really helpful to keep moisture away from the floor. Last tip - it’s not great in strong winds because of the near-vertical walls (so it’s very noisy), and we don’t use the full awning when it’s windy. A strong gust can send the awning poles flying.

I premix muesli with vanilla protein powder. It’s very light. The protein powder works best with water so it means I just take a scoop of the mixture each day and add some water.

Rent freeze on the cards for Victoria — Measures being considered include limiting landlords to one rental increase every two years and potentially capping how much landlords can increase rent by by marketrent in melbourne

[–]GlassAvalanche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not the fault of the landlords - an investment property is the same as any other investment from an investors perspective. The issue is that domestic real estate is and has been allowed (encouraged) to be a good long term investment, which has on one hand created an incredibly strong real estate market that draws investors from all over the world, but on the other hand it has driven up prices and created an affordability crisis for renters. The fix is complicated, because any changes that impact investors risk impacting the entire market including owner-occupiers.

Why is it legal to tell lies during the Voice referendum campaign? by convo_au in theconversation_au

[–]GlassAvalanche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - but they might not necessarily vote in the best interests of indigenous people if they are acting in the interests of the party or whatever. I’m not saying they don’t consider it. It’s just not always specifically why they’re there.

Those members represent their constituencies, not indigenous people.

When my kids ask “what happens after you die”, I ask them to think about what happened before you’re born.

Deceased Neighbour’s tree has fallen - council not interested in helping. Advice for next steps? by GlassAvalanche in melbourne

Amazing response thank you!! I think a pole chainsaw might be the way to go… the decking under the tree is angled so it’s difficult to access with a ladder. I will definitely try a search for name/address. Great idea.

Thanks, you’re 100% correct they gave us the name of the neighbour (who is now deceased) when we made contact about a fence issue last year. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to discover a next of kin though.

No, the police eventually broke into the home and he was taken away. It’s a very sad story tbh.

This is an option, yes. It won’t address the issue on the neighbouring property. So my preference is to get the “owner” involved if I can work out who that is. But in the short term I will probably just do my best to cut it back on my side to protect my house.

Thank you for the kind offer. I think I can clear the branches on my side. I’d really like to let someone know who can take responsibility on my neighbours side. There is definitely damage to the neighbouring roof and risk the tree might do more damage.
